There, I changed a lot of things with this deck, basically making it faster while keeping the core ideas intact. Also updated the sideboard. What do you think, anything else to add or improve?

+1 if you like?

Hey, what about Mycosynth Lattice ??

It would be fun to attack with Hellkite Tyrant and steal all your opponent's permanents =))

@ Nemesis8, oh so that is why a lot of people have been suggesting it. I always thought it was because of the win-con on Hellkite Tyrant , not the attack ability.

Nemesis8 says... #7

So don't you like the idea?? You could win by attacking once!!

@ Nemesis8

No it's in there now, I was just getting ready for work today. Apply my make-up, fluff my hair, figure out which dress I'm in the mood for today and find out what pair of shoes and which purse matches it.

+1! I love artifact decks, and this just looks like so much fun! It is always great to see Hellkite Tyrant used!

I wanted to make a deck based around him as soon as I saw him, I have a weakness for alternate win cons.

And thanks for the +1 Akgmar~

You have no reason to worry about Pithing Needle on Hellkite Tyrant . His abilities are triggered abilities, not acivated abilities, so Pithing Needle would do nothing.

@ fencerman2 I used to think Pithing Needle said "The named card can't be played." Apparently I haven't updated my descriptions in a while. I should also mention that this deck can win on turn 6, possibly sooner. Not fast enough for modern and easily disrupted, which is why it goes in casual.

Pithing Needle doesn't work on Hellkite Tyrant because all of his abilities are triggered, so no need to worry about that.

Also, Coretapper doesn't seem to be doing anything besides working with Everflowing Chalice , so maybe you could find a better fit for those slots. One Broodstar would fit into your theme and colors, if a bit expensive mana-wise. Where Broodstar is expensive mana-wise, Wurmcoil Engine is expensive dollar-wise (relatively.) Or maybe think about adding something else with charge counters. Right now if you get Coretapper without the Chalice it's two mana for a 1/1.

Oop, I was too late on the pithing needle. But anyways, good deck. +1

The thing is Thebigshaggy, Fabricate and Thoughtcast help make the Coretapper and Voltaic Key work well with Everflowing Chalice . I don't want any more 6 mana drops, and Wurmcoil Engine isn't even really a win-condition in this deck in comparison to the others. Broodstar is nice, as in a few turns it'll be really cheap, however it is very easy to remove, and a pain to bring out with Chord of Calling and can't be tutored any other way. It'll take some play-testing, as I'm iffy with them making my mana base weaker but I see their benefits.

Thanks for the +1~

@RockingRinosaur

That's what Mycosynth Lattice is for.

+1 for being stylish and effective. There's something about this deck that makes me want to see the look on someone's face after they realize what the deck is designed to do.

Thanks for the +1 CanadianSamurai ~

It's also ridiculously fun to say "Your Emrakul, the Aeons Torn will do jack-shit against this deck." and then watch them go from confused to raging.

November 10, 2013 10:12 p.m.

Was talking about the synergy between Hellkite Tyrant and Mycosynth Lattice to someone a couple of weeks ago, but it was in wistful "wish we could do this" terms. Leave it to you to figure it out! I remember when Gatecrash came out and I saw Crowned Ceratok and Sapphire Drake , I thought they'd make a great team. Steel Overseer is the icing on that cake. Very unusual set of cards, and unusual it what I like best. +1

Recently I played again casual artifact deck, whitch was using Coretapper to support not only the Everflowing Chalice but also the Lux Cannon . I think that Lux Cannon can easily help Hellkite tyran to fulfill its task :-)

So I wander why it isnt on your decklist?
