Memory Challenge
So I've been noticing that Kyleeee has been posting lots of challenges for people on the challenge boards. So I thought it would be fun to try this one.
Let's start with the challenge itself. The challenge was to get away from cards and computers to build a deck from memory. Start by grabbing a piece of paper and writing down all the cards you can think of that could work well in a deck together and make a deck out of the list. I went a step further and gave myself a time limit. 5 minutes to write the cards and 3 minutes to build the deck. I also prompted myself to use every card I wrote down.
So this is what I came up with on round one. A modern R/G burn deck using some of my favorite cards. A lil bit about the synergies and playability of the deck.
First up the Burning-Tree Emissary this is something that works with most of the deck. It can bring out the Atarka's Command for basically 3 or the
Hellspark Elemental
. And of course all of the burn for the most part.
Burn obviously has synergy with other pieces of burn.
The way the deck plays out is to play the dudes like
Hellspark Elemental
, Spark Elemental, and Ball Lightning promoting interaction and clearing the board state. Then follow up with burn to finish them off.
The
Xenagos, the Reveler
is another continuous hasty body and something the opponent has to deal with. It saves you for a turn. Koth of the Hammer is the late game finisher. If they don't deal with either planes walker it spells their doom in flashy shiny fiery letters.
Now the unorthodox burn spell.
Browbeat
is the draw engine. Because that is something that always seems to allude the burn deck running out of gas. And unless they can gain ridiculous amounts of life they will let you draw the cards because from my experience they are usually at 5-8 life by the time I cast this.
So tell me what you think I don't think this is bad for building from memory in 8 minutes. But comments are welcome.
