Isolated Chapel is going to rotate out it seems. So since I only recently returned to Magic The Gathering after a ten year hiatus. I'm not going to back flag very many cards. The Guild Gates do just fine on their own right.

Ok, you left quite a few comments about my orzhov deck and wanted me to check yours out. So here's what I see.

According to your "rules" and I quote "don't play the curve", here's the best scenario for your deck.

Turn 1: land

Turn 2: land & Tithe Drinker or High Priest of Penance

Turn 3: same as turn 2 but with an extort.

Turn 4: Vampire Nighthawk or Oblivion Ring with extort.

Turn 5: Crypt Ghast with extort

Turn 6: Obzedat, Ghost Council extorted with however much mana you have or creatures still left on the field with extort.....

Well, I don't think there will be a turn 7 vs aggro but even if you do make it this far is really when any of your extorts will really help, but here you'll probably play pontiff and "try" to recover.

Oh and you say my deck makes no sense? You have boardwipes with a deck that is not only full of creatures, but depends on them to win with zero ways to get them back.

Decent deck, but allow me to make a few suggestions.

  1. I'm sorry, but your RULE #1 is horrible. In order to win with this deck, you have to get creatures out as fast as you can, so you can actually extort well. When I play tested against my Esper Unblockable, you got so unbelievably screwed over because of your lack of creatures, and it was all because of RULE #1.

  2. FIX YOUR LANDS.

  3. Get rid of Blood Scrivener , as it doesn't do well if you've got a ReadyWilling in your hand, and waiting to play it.

  4. Please get rid of Merciless Eviction . Like dbrannon said, it doesn't work well in a creature based deck like yours.

  5. I also suggest adding some more removal. Oblivion Ring can't do it on its own.

  6. Get rid of your Guildgates. They suck. Basic lands are 200% better.

Justa_Winmill ,

Actually I made a heap of changes that I believe you will like. I will update shortly after this post.

Id use Mentor of the Meek instead of Disciple of Bolas , really anything but that for draw. Another Sign in Blood and Staff of Nin would keep your curve where it is

I actually think this can work, however, I don't see why you would use Merciless Eviction instead of Mutilate . Killing Wave is better than it too, but Mutilate costs 4, then can be extorted to make them lose life too, and easily is cast with Crypt Ghast out. So say you drop ghast turn 4, turn 5 you can Mutilate then extort up.

Targeted Mutilate on Lily for -3

Merciless Eviction is now gone. Refresh

Well why not Orzhov Charm , Executioner's Swing , requires them to do damage first. You have a ton of lifegain, the life lost won't hurt

I am testing Executioner's Swing only. It will be Tragic Slip soon as I am done goofing around.
