I would cut the majority of your lands that enter tapped (rot farm, guildgate, vivids) and just run basics instead, you should be able to survive fine in doing so.

I would cut Zulaport Cutthroat honestly, maybe you like it as a combo piece, but I think you can live without it, but I suppose it's a judgment call.

I think you could benefit from some reanimation spells, Dread Return, Animate Dead etc. You've got a decent amount of fatties but no too many ways to get them in play quick.

Mycoloth, Hell's Caretaker, and Burnished Hart all seem a little slow to me, I think you could find some better replacements.

Strionic Resonator is neat tech, but perhaps a little win more, and could often be a dead draw. I'm personally not a huge fan of Eldrazi Monument in Meren, but if you face a lot of sweepers or feel you need the boost in combat then I could see it.

Braids is banned fyi, maybe your group allows it.

All in all your deck list looks pretty solid, looks really similar to mine, I'm not sure how help much I can offer right this moment, but maybe I'll think of something later.

I would suggest Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx it's never disapointed me, with all yours fatty you could benefit from the extra mana. Miren, the Moaning Well is a good sac land that can provide the extra life you need before you go Infinite.For those two land you could remove : Vivid Marsh and Grim Backwoods

Yavimaya Elder (a personal favorite) & Heart Warden could replace Viridian Emissary & Burnished Hart

I think that Black Market would be particulary nice in your deck because of Pox, Death Cloud, Curse of the Cabal and the rest. I would sugggest you remove one of those card : Duplicant, Hell's Caretaker, Primal Growth ,Viridian Emissary.

I really like the twist you gave to Meren and you made me fall for Abhorrent Overlord you made me look at this card like it was the first time.

I like your deck a lot! It's an interesting take on Meren with cards that I don't often see in her decklists.

possible improvements? I don't see Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth in your manabase. It's grown to be kind of an expensive card, so I can totally understand if you don't want to buy one, but it's nice when you've got Sheoldred, the Whispering One in your deck. It's free 6 damage to someone every turn-- AND its mana fixing if you need it to be. Contamination is cool, but it only makes lands TAP for swamps instead of actually becoming swamps in addition to their land types.

If you've got the cash to drop on it, Entomb seems crazy good for getting the one creature you need to win in your graveyard.

Some people don't like tutors, but I see that you don't have any in your deck. Demonic Tutor is obvious, but if you wanted other tutors you can Diabolic Intent is nice because she's also a sac outlet. Rack up those experience counters~ There's also Rune-Scarred Demon but at 7 CMC i can totally understand why you'd leave him out.

I feel like Living End and/or Living Death would fit this deck really well. You have a lot of these mass sac outlets, and both those cards fit that theme AND let you recur your whole graveyard.

As for what to take out, I always find that kind of difficult cause people have their preferences. My first thought is Viridian Zealot because you've already got Reclamation Sage and Caustic Caterpillar.

Jealous of your Duplicant. It's just such a good EDH staple.

Thanks for the suggestions smiffdemon, I run only about 3 tutors right now... I really want entob but just dropped some cash buying nykthos,Phyrexian Tower and Volrath's Stronghold I currently run Living Death and my opponents hate it, I will definetly loom into Living End, though I am not too keen on the suspend only way to cast part....Contamination is just a meta based card, as it screws most of my opponents... It doesn't have a niche in most meren decks, and would come out if I changes to a meta that runs black.

Don't forget if you like the deck +1s are appreciated, as I am trying to bring my deck up past the 2 meren decks above me, which happen to have not always been meren lol :) (sacrilege, I know.... Meren is the best!)

All of those cards are worth dropping cash on so I feel ya. In my EDH games, I feel like the more tutors I run, the better, so yeah, its up to you if you decide to do more.

Btw while Rune-Scarred Demon is high in Mana, I just figured out a way to make an infinite search engine with him. Hey I love the deck list. Have you tried deadbridge chant? I find it great for loading the grave and getting stuff back. Also liliana heretical healer is awesome in the deck I found. This deck is rad. I love how It That Betrays works in this theme.

Only input I could offer is that Reanimate has helped me out soooo much in my Meren deck, that I'd say it's worth trying out in this one.

Also, I just got a Westvale Abbey  ^Flip from the SoI pre-release, and immediately put it in my Meren deck. It provides another sac outlet and is just a really great addition imo if you can get ahold of one.

I'd pick whether you want to focus on stax or combo, not both. If you're running infinite combos, I'd focus on tutoring for them and get rid of stuff that doesn't help you combo.

Also removal should be cheap and/or flexible

In: Pattern of Rebirth, Diabolic Intent, Rendclaw Trow, Spawning Pit, Green Sun's Zenith, Worldly Tutor, Beast Within, Nature's Lore, forest, maybe Go for the Throat/Dismember

Out: curse of the cabal, braids, smokestack, viridian zealot, big game hunter, pox, it that betrays, doomed necromancer, death cloud, strionic resonator

The rendclaw trow is a cheap combo piece for use with mazirek/mikaeus and a sac outlet

As far as hilariously expensive options, Demonic Tutor, Survival of the Fittest and Vampiric Tutor are pretty busted

Oh also grim backwoods and tainted wood are worse than basic lands, I'd cut them for a Swamp and a Forest

temple of the false god and crypt of agadeem are pretty sketchy too

urborg should be a basic swamp unless you play against Sheoldred, Whispering One on a regular basis or something goofy like that. Basic lands help you get wrecked less by Blood Moon, Ruination, Back to Basics and so forth

oh also Khalni Garden is pretty good

Great job, lots of cards I hadn't considered for my Meren deck. I especially like It That Betrays, Death Cloud, Smokestack and Attrition as cards I might add someday. Have been wanting to add Grave Pact too but I'd have to buy one first.

Either way though the tutors are good, especially pattern of rebirth, and I'd still cut the other stuff I said like it that betrays, doomed necro, big game, curse of the cabal.

If you get Pattern of rebirth that might be a reason to keep it that betrays, but as is you really don't have ways to cheat it out and I mean come on, it costs freaking 12. I also really dislike strionic but it's fun in a slow meta.
