with so many creatures, have you considered See the Unwritten?

Are there any infinite combos in here? If you were going to include some/more, what would you play? I've been wanting to build Meren, but haven't really taken the time to research the commander.

@vault Right now, the combos in this deck are Mikaeus, the Unhallowed/Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest + Puppeteer Clique/Woodfall Primus along with a sac outlet for infinite death/ETB triggers. I'm not a big proponent of combos in casual EDH, so I usually just have one or 2 in my lists. If I were to add more, I'd likely go with the Mike+Trike combo along with Tooth and Nail for easy wins.

I wanted to build it casual too. That's why your list caught my eye, no combos that I could see. So how do you win? Do you have a finite combo, or just turn sideways?

@vault Often this deck is capable of completely taking control of the game, and it's great at going long, so beating down with cards like Avenger of Zendikar and Craterhoof Behemoth is definitely a real strategy. Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest and Kokusho, the Evening Star also provide win conditions. The combo comes out in desperate situations or when games go ridiculously long and I want to end them.

Nice deck TheFanatic, + 1 from me.
You should check out my Green Black Glissa, the Traitor edh deck. It has a list of a bunch of cool control cards and a primer on stax and you may find some cool cards to try out.
You might also like my zombie tribal edh

I like this deck. I've got quite the soft spot for reanimator decks, I have a Grixis one myself!+1 from me. Looks like a solid list.
Are you trying to keep it budget friendly?

@TheBoraxKid Thanks! I'm not actively trying to keep this deck budget, but I'm also not going out of my way to acquire expensive cards like Damnation. This deck is a long-term project for me, so it will likely get more expensive as time goes on.

I really like your build. I especially like your custom categories. I copied them for my deck. Since this deck has such a high rating and mine does not, would you mind checking my version out and leaving some feedback? I'm sure you have some good suggestions to help balance mine out. I would really appreciate it.

It isn't cheap but Toxic Deluge has really saved me from peoples crazy starts before. I can see where Decree of Pain could be more appealing in a slow meta thought. Just a thought. It is nice to get around indestructible in commander as well.

@Bganoko The card I'm really looking for is Damnation, which is definitely the best board wipe in black. I like Toxic Deluge and use it in one of my other decks, but it can really hurt. Damnation costs one more mana, but it doesn't cost a big chunk of life, which is a big deal since this deck only has 2 cards that can gain life (Kokusho, the Evening Star and Scavenging Ooze).

Dimir House Guard can search birthing pod and grave pact and is a sac outlet.

Riftsweeper Library is not so bad with the large amount of search.

@Hellgates Do you just mean Riftsweeper? I don't think there is anything called Riftsweeper Library.
March 25, 2016 9:29 a.m.
I meant. Riftsweepers effect is pretty good even going to the library with the large amount of easy search and graveyard dump cards.

Why get rid of Spore Frog? It's an amazing card and people will use a bog just to get rid of it even if it's the only thing in your grave. Massacre Wurm is also a good card choice. Hit's Krenko and other decks that generate a lot of tokens, it can be a win condition on it's own.

Have you ever tried Dosan the Falling Leaf, TheFanatic? He may be good against people who rely on instants too much and has served as a Grand Abolisher for green in my decks.
You should check out my primer on my Glissa, the Traitor EDH deck. There are tons of other cool green and black cards that you might be able to experiment with. There are far too many cards there to suggest them all.
I like this reanimator deck style so +1 from me :)

Traverse the Ulvenwald seems like a slightly better version of Green Sun's Zenith + Dryad Arbor. The upside being it can get your black creatures and it doesn't have to cast the creature which might be good rarely. I don't think I would play it over Whisperwood Elemental though if you aren't already playing Zenith. The other ones don't look great to me though. The Gitrog Monster might be a cool general though I agree.

Have you ever tried using Blade of Selves? It would only be viable in Multiplayer games but death triggers on Legends like Kokusho or even etb creatures like gray merchant or simple Fleshbag Marauder are phenomenal in a deck like this
April 4, 2016 1:31 p.m.
Since you can sac what is made with Blade of Selves as an interrupt the potential seems well worth it

@Bganoko Traverse the Ulvenwald made it into the deck. I still have my eye on Ever After, but I likely won't end up having room for it.
@Klancik I think Blade of Selves is cool, but I'm not sold on it. I think it's probably a little too mana intensive for this deck.
@ChapterBlack I've considered Cabal Coffers, but without an Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth in play it's just terrible in this deck. As a result, I've intentionally opted not to include it.

May I suggest adding in Homeward Path for those pesky Marchesa, the Black Rose decks.
