I really like this deck and it has been really helpful while I've been brainstorming about building my own Meren Pod deck.
I have some sugestions that you might like TheFanatic
If you want a creature control card that makes everyone uncomfortable and can be recurred I would suggest the Mindslicer. Depending on how your hand is built this guy can be insane or just meh for recursion shenanigans. At the end of the day if he's messed with though a lot of control players will have no hands and be very very sad and its not like you need to dedicate a lot of room for other discard for him to be good. I would also replace Decree of Pain with Damnation but is obviously not budget if you don't already own one. Massacre Wurm which you have already does this effect but cards like Toxic Deluge, Black Sun's Zenith or even Massacre are better for the -x/-x stuff if you only find that you cycle Decree of Pain for that effect. My choice of ridiculous expensive sorceries that wreck everything are Death Cloud and Exsanguinate which I will always suggest to anyone playing multiplayer magic.
In your pod chain it seems like you have 4 creatures with 4 cmc and 6 with 5 cmc. I have always questioned Shriekmaw's effectiveness since it can't kill black or artifact creatures but if it works in your meta then it could be really good spot removal. It would not work in my meta however so I would replace it with another 4 cmc control or support cards like Mindslicer, Creakwood Liege, or Phyrexian Obliterator (IF is doable for you). Genesis or Seedborn Muse might also be other fantastic 5 drops to add to the chain if the ones I suggested above seem un-appealing.
I hope this helped :)

Hi,Why Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord is not a good option? Thanks!

@dlaxw7 I tried Deadbridge Chant in this deck previously, but found that it always died before my turn came around again. Like, every single time.
@yagomf I used to run Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord and he is always in consideration. The issue is that my creatures are generally very small, and so he doesn't deal out very much life loss. He's also very mana intensive.
@Bganoko You're probably right, I'll make the swap back to Dimir House Guard for now.

I added an Ulvenwald Hydra package to my Meren deck with Cabal Coffers and Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth it's pretty insane. Also just added Westvale Abbey Flip also very good. Great deck list! Helped me out a lot.

A nice combo to run with Massacre Wurm is to run Natural Affinity. Wipes out opponents' lands, plus the death triggers when the lands go.

A card I've been running with Meren lately that I haven't heard a lot of chatter about is Saproling Burst - it's a rather unassuming card, but what makes it interesting is its ability to immediately generate 7 experience counters without many ways to stop it, short of a card with Split Second (like Krosan Grip). It's a super proactive enchantment that can work either as a temporary meat shield, provide 6-7 sacrifice targets, or just dump 7 death triggers for Meren instantly.
You can either remove the counters one at a time, or respond to any attempt to answer Meren by pulling the 7th counter, which kills all 7 saprolings as a state-based effect since they're all 0/0s.
Seven happens to be the magic number for Meren decks as it hits every reanimation target short of Woodfall Primus and Craterhoof Behemoth.

Eldritch Evolution seems like it can find a place in this deck

@harrynental It can and it has. I haven't updated my decks for a few months because I didn't have the time to play, but I'm going through them all now and making changes.
Thanks everyone else for your suggestions, I'm taking them all into consideration.

If it hasn't been said yet, Grim Flayer seems like a shoo-in for any Meren deck. A 2 drop that can give you some damage output while fixing your draws and enabling you to dump creatures into the yard seems too good to pass up. Yeah he doesn't have an EtB effect, but you can usually find one or two guys to swing at early to get his ability rolling.

I love this Meren deck and the direction you've taken with it. I have a Meren deck on the site and this deck makes me want to revise it. Have you thought about Elvish Piper, Gatekeeper of Malakir, Treasured Find, Regrowth, Stitch Together, or even Mortal Combat? Again kudos for such a great deck.

Hey seems like a pretty good deck. I have a suggestion check out Demon of Dark Schemes it's pretty good and I replaced Massacre Wurm with it. You can check out my Meren deck too maybe you will get some ideas. I also like to run more creature type ramp and stuff like that I feel it's better than noncreature spells because it's easier to reacurr.(*reacurr Spelling) This deck is also really expensive compared to mine an extra $300 huh that's weird. Anyway check out my deck list see if you like anything. Thanks.

You Ever thought about putting life From The Loam in this deck... Maybe replace it with satyr Wayfinder I feel like the dredue would help especially with Phyrexian Arena and the mana base is good...

Have you considered Demonic Collusion? I know it's pretty high on the curve for a tutor but with the buyback effect i think you could pull some nice tricks with it.
September 29, 2016 7:38 a.m.
And i totally agree with DoctorRouse about Life from the Loam and the advantage the dredge mechanic would provide especially with Crucible of Worlds already in the deck.

@Jay3401 and @DoctorRouse I had Life from the Loam in here in the past, but I ended up cutting it because it just wasn't doing much for me. I almost never had any lands to get back with it. I like the card a lot, I just found it to be underpowered. There is also a fair amount of graveyard hate in my meta, so I cut all my dredge cards because they often just caused me to end up getting half my library exiled by a Bojuka Bog or something. I've found that I can fuel the graveyard quite well as it is, only this way I have more control over what ends up in there.

Donor house guard seems pretty expensive for the relative value that it gives you. I'm personally not a fan. Craterhoof while a very powerful creature which it's price tag indicates seems to loose its effectiveness if u reanimate with meren since combat has already taken place. Personally I would recommend vorniclex at that price point/ casting cost. I find puppeteer clic in the same situation since it might b rare u benefit from bringing it back at the end of your turn. How has demon of dark schemes worked out. I just ordered one to put in my meren deck and I'm very intrigued. Please check out my deck and make some suggestions they would be greatly appreciated

@Wickked I disagree with absolutely everything being said.
Dimir House Guard is a fantastic tutor letting you search Birthing Pod or Grave Pact both powerful enough to win games on there own.
Craterhoof Behemoth Win's game. at 7+ lands depending on how many players you drop Avenger of Zendikar and if it survives a turn you can Birthing Pod or hard cast Craterhoof Behemoth and just win.
3.Puppeteer Clique Although not as explosive as the above 2 is just a fantastic Swiss army knife of effects. Still your opponents best dead creatures and exile it after your done with it. True your prob not going to be grabbing it with Meren but you have better options then that. Also It's part of a infinite combo that just wins games. Puppeteer Clique+Mikaeus, the Unhallowed/Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest+Viscera Seer/Ashnod's Altar=Take all the creatures out of opponents grave and exile them when your done.
- Demon of Dark Schemes is more of a personal preference but I prefer Massacre Wurm for the pure destruction it rains down upon my opponents creatures. And vs Krenko, Mob Boss which is a common deck in my meta it basically just win's the game.

@Wickked and @Hellgates I agree with what Hellgates is saying here. The cards in question are in here for a reason, and they've all won me games.
As for Demon of Dark Schemes, I've been really liking it. It directly replaced Massacre Wurm for me, as they both perform similar functions. I prefer Demon here because the reanimate effect is incredibly powerful and is quite easy to achieve. Massacre Wurm ends games, but so does Demon of Dark Schemes. In the end, it really comes down to personal preference and your own local metagame.

Hey man just a few things I found in play testing. I took out Greater Good for Dimir House Guard because Dimir can tutor for Birthing Pod and Grave Pact then get recurred back as a possible infinite sac outlet. The problem I had with Greater Good is I only had a handful of cards I could actually get card advantage off most my cards are 1-3 power. I am surprised you took out Whisperwood Elemental my meta has a lot of board wipes so maybe that is why I think it is so good. Anyway good stuff still man loving Meren in my playgroups super interactive commander.
