Red-Skull to answer your question, probably Mothdust Changeling is the most common to go, followed by Stonybrook Banneret

golden130 I like your idea of using Drift of Phantasms. I'll have to play around with that one. Thanks.

The only drawback of this deck is that you need Intruder Alarm for the whole combos to fire off. If you don't have it you are done for.

Have you thought about Gitaxian Probe for extra draw? ive also seen Sleight of Hand used in modern as well.

luke1 even without Intruder Alarm there are still plenty of combos for getting merfolk tokens, gainging life, and draining their deck. Merrow Reejerey is fantastic. You can also add in Merrow Commerce if you want to lean less on Intruder Alarm ftw

I tried building this deck and love it! I found Drift of Phantasms to be an extremely useful addition (I think I replaced Judge of Currents) since it can find any of the combo pieces. I also used Distant Melody and Shared Discovery in place of Serum Visions - they're definitely conditional (you can't even cast Shared Discovery unless you have 4 creatures out) but mainly I didn't wanna shell out the extra $$$ haha.
