Control deck. When I started playing in 4th edition my favourite cards where Control Magic and Counterspell this deck reminds of that play style.

Startegy is steal/destroy opponents stuff with Merieke Ri Berit(commander) and have a lot of untap effects like Unbender Tine, Fatestitcher, Pemmin's Aura++ to be able to use it several times. Lightning Greaves and Swiftfoot Boots are essential for protecting commander + giving it haste. Thousand-Year Elixir also gives sudo haste and lets you untap.

Lots of boardwipes Toxic Deluge, Merciless Eviction, Austere Command, Cyclonic Rift++ and some targeted removal Utter End, Anguished Unmaking, Heliod's Intervention, Path to Exile++ and counterspells Render Silent, Counterspell.

Some pillowfort effects like Propaganda and Meekstone. Cards like Fatestitcher and Tideforce Elemental can also be used to tap down opponents stuff.

Needs more/better wincons. Today it is basically beat downs with their own stuff.

In my playgroup it is not liked very much, ppl do not like getting their stuff (especially their commander) taken away from them.. So it gets more hate than it actually deserves?

Needs more card draw.

Maybe add more tap effects on creatures to take advantage of all the untap effects? Arcanis the Omnipotent and Mother of Runes are the only decent targets other than commander.

Should perhaps take more advantage of all the untap effects by adding some more mana rocks that tap for more mana like Gilded Lotus perhaps Thran Dynamo and Basalt Monolith?

Maybe add some hate like Torpor Orb and Rest in Peace?

Too many tapped lands!
