WHY THIS DECK DIFFERS FROM THE META VERSION

-Master of Waves- It just isn't strong enough to me. It just makes chump blockers when you are already winning, or makes tokens that aren't merfolk and are too small and unexceptional to make a difference. It doesn't really strengthen your ability to win. So instead, I run 3 Seafloor Oracle, which is also a 4 drop, and also a merfolk, but it lands you significant amounts of card draw, for just continuing to do what you're already doing anyways, which is mercilessly attacking unblockably as often as possible. Then all that extra card draw can continue to spam out more land and creatures. It's just way more my style.

-Cursecatcher- If you opponent sees it on the board, they will always take it into account, and so it will never really actually do what it's supposed do, and an aggro deck doesn't want to be sacrificing creatures anyways. You want to be attacking with them. Tideshaper Mystic on the other hand is also a 1 drop 1/1 merfolk, but you can use it on your turn as one more way of making your opponent have an island so that you can swing in without being blocked and land the kill as early as possible.

-Dismember- This one I don't run, because I don't think that killing a 5/5 at instant speed is worth 1 mana and 4 life. It's just not to me. Instead, Thassa's Rebuff is a really cheap counterspell, that helps protect me from a far wider range of threats, including board wipes, which are the bane of all of my decks. It can also mess with combo decks, and becomes stronger and stronger the more well I am doing on my board state, especially because there are so many double blue 2 drops in this deck.

-Kira, Great Glass-Spinner- Kira is great, no doubt, but Kopala, Warden of Waves is a merfolk, who also protects me, as well as my creatures, and doesn't prevent me from targeting my own creatures with Merfolk Reejerey. Also it's much cheaper.

-Aether Vial- Aether vial is way too expensive in real world actual money. I make more budget decks, and I am never going to spend $160+ to get 4 vials. Besides I would rather just run 4 Phantasmal Images that become copies of my lords and help me win the game all that much faster anyways. Being able to vial out a creature as a tap action is just not that important a strategy to how this deck functions in my opinion, and it really doesn't need more ramp because the overall cmc is so low and its a mono color deck. Hell as is I'm only running 19 lands because it is so little of an issue. Plus Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx is an amazing ramp land, especially in a mono blue deck, and even more so with Merrow Reejerey who can untap it to make insane amounts of mana.
