Coretapper and Energy Chamber look like a lot of fun.

Why isn't Sculpting Steel in here?

I only have four cards that use charge counters: Chalice of the Void , Darksteel Reactor (which I'll probably remove), Everflowing Chalice , and Lux Cannon . The only thing the charge counters would help with are the Chalice and the Cannon, so no Coretapper . On top of that, it's small. Same concept for Energy Chamber .

Sculpting Steel , I don't know, it just isn't.

With Mycosynth Lattice you can Animate your opponents' Lands into 0/0 creatures and let SBA force them into the yard, and if you also include Dross Scorpion , you get to untap a permanent each time. So feasibly, you get to tap the same land over and over to eviscerate everyone else's Mana bases.

Ah, you have the lattice already, my mistake! :-)

Sweet deck! I have a similar one, but it plays Kozilek as the only general. Seems like they play pretty differently. I just try to power out my general as fast as possible and go to town, but this deck looks like it has more late-game power.

One card I'd highly recommend is Blinkmoth Urn . Consistently generates me like 8-12 mana every turn.

Also check out Spine of Ish Sah for removal. A 7-mana Vindicate isn't exactly efficient, but when you're playing colorless, you can't be too picky, right? Plus, it has great synergy with Krark-Clan Ironworks (which I know you're not playing: perhaps it doesn't quite fit the style of your deck, but it's worth considering anyway).

Also, why no Vedalken Orrery ? Pretty much worse than Shimmer Myr in your deck, but still a hella powerful card anyway.

I'm aware that Blinkmoth Urn can generate me a good amount of mana, but at the same time, so could my opponent. I'm not one for giving my opponents free stuff.

Spine of Ish Sah is in the deck I actually use. It's just not in this deck list.

I don't own a Vedalken Orrery .

Blinkmoth Urn is superficially symmetrical, but in actually, I've rarely seen it generate more than 1-3 mana for an opponent. I see your point, though!

What is the biggest threat to this deck. It seems really well and i am in fact putting a deck together slowly that is similar to this one but i do see a few early game holes that could result in a early game loss due to not being able to stabilize. Also what is the best starting hand you can come up with for this deck. +1 love the deck just trying to figure it out.

I do list some threats the deck has to deal with in the description:

  • Merciless Eviction is particularly annoying because it exiles. There aren't a lot of cards in the game that deal with exiled cards (Karn Liberated is one of them because it restarts the game). In the case that card shows up, you need a sack outlet (Krark-Clan Ironworks , Kuldotha Forgemaster to find the Ironworks).
  • I haven't had to deal with Hellkite Tyrant yet, but I'm sure you can see the problem with that guy. One solution is the one listed above: sack everything. Another involves a much more klunky way with Karn, Silver Golem having to animate all your taken artifacts and getting them back with Homeward Path .
  • Mass artifact destruction I can deal with more than mass exiling. Obviously if Darksteel Forge is out then I don't care about the destruction. If too much stuff is gone you need to shuffle it back into the deck, either through Elixir of Immortality , Karn's ultimate, or either of the Eldrazi dying. The deck does have some recursion through Scarecrone , Myr Retriever , and Arcbound Reclaimer .
  • Mass land destruction. Okay, no one likes land destruction, but this deck also has the problem of not having any basic lands, making it more susceptible to cards like From the Ashes and Ruination . Crucible of Worlds helps with that, but it's not very fast. It's another situation where you need stuff like Mycosynth Lattice and Darksteel Forge out.

This deck is certainly no aggro deck; I'll tell you that from playing it. It's essentially a combo deck, but it doesn't explode all over the place when the combo is set up. You have to set it up correctly, know when to play mana rocks, know what to tutor for. I don't know, it's harder to explain than it is to actually play the deck.

Best starting hand? Dang, I don't know. Starting with all 3 Urza lands sounds pretty sweet. I did one game where I started with Cloudpost , Vesuva , and Thespian's Stage , so that was pretty cool have 9 mana from 3 lands turn 3. If you can get the Kuldotha Forgemaster going ASAP you'll pretty much win cause you just go grab Blightsteel Colossus .

First congratz on a very nice deck so 1upvote to you :). I love colorless decks and yours if very good and helped me upgrade my own colorless deck by the inclusion of Karn, Silver Golem . Now my personal suggestion to your deck: Mishra's Workshop that can be combined with Thespian's Stage + Vesuva for 3rd turn 9 colorless mana.

You should really consider Deathrender since you run Forgemaster, this will help get those eldrazi out nice and early, since Mycosynth Golem Doesnt help with them.

Dami: Mishra's Workshop is a $600 dollar land. That's pretty much out of budget always.

Mithrandrir: sure, it'll get the Eldrazi out, but they won't trigger. You have to cast the Eldrazi for them to trigger, and I care more about those abilities than getting them out quick.

@Dami That does not work, since Mishra's Workshops mana can only be used for casting artifacts. Well it would work if you count in some mana rocks to produce the mana for Thespian's Stages ability.

Dami says... #15

I know that and also know that will not work with Eldrazi but it will work for heavy cost artifacts and thats why i normally include it in a deck with some Palladium Myr they can be cast with the 3 colorless mana from Mishra's Workshop and you can use 2 colorless mana he produces to pay the Thespian's Stage cost so by turn 4 with any other land that can produces 1 you will have 12 colorless enogh for Blightsteel Colossus . About Mishra's Workshop price you got a point i only have one myself and had to trade it for some cards that in total worthed ard 500 Euros

Thats very true. You wont get the casting triggers. But Annihilator Four and Three are nothing to sneeze at on turn 4...
