Soul-Scar Mage and Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons make a nice combo and cards like Walking Ballista make it even better.

I keep toying with the idea of a deck built around cards like Skyship Plunderer and Maulfist Revolutionary in order to manipulate counters on a range of cards from Planeswalkers to As Foretold and Brain in a Jar to +1 and -1 counters. Perhaps I'll add blue and some counterspells to this, but unless Hour of Devastation comes out with some new interesting cards with special counters on them, I don't think the deck is competitive enough yet.
