This is a better version of the budget combo deck I'll be running at FNM on 6/27/14. I won't have any shocks, mana confluence, city of brass, or fetches, and probably not 4 Path to Exile either. But the combo will be the same, it'll have Lightning Bolt and Fog and other things.

I have Lightning Bolt and Fog to stop any decks that can go off before I can, and I'm using Elvish Mystic and Avacyn's Pilgrim to make it turn 3 rather than turn 4.

Now the important part: The combo. Midnight guard enchanted with either Presence of Gond or Elemental Mastery allows him to tap to put out a token or two, and when the token enters he untaps, allowing him to spawn as many tokens as you wish. I didn't even find this combo through the internet either, I was browsing M15 spoilers and saw the guard and knew there had to be a combo with that. Very shortly, that led to this.

I played a rough version of this deck off of things my lgs had at fnm today. I ran some pretty bad stuff. More card advantage, birds of paradise, no paths, and all basic lands. Needless to say, the main problem was the mana base. I think if I put a lot of money into the mana and buy some paths it could go undefeated. I went 2-2.

Two people were running enough removal to kill midnight guard every time, and one of them combo'd shortly after killing it. The other two never saw it coming and were absolutely destroyed.

What I really want to do is make the deck red/white and run splinter twin over presence. Less mana problems, and I need splinter twins for a competitive deck I'll be making eventually anyway.
