As you said, I am aware of the card (and it is an auto-include if you own it), but I felt like adding a single card which is so expensive served no real purpose. The point of the deck is to give people a goal on what and how to upgrade their deck when starting at the $20 budget version.

I have still mentioned it in the description and I feel that is adequate. Also, I do own two Mana Crypt. :P

maximegirard: I'm already playing the better version, Kozilek, Butcher of Truth. You don't really need two and this one does the job far better.

Hi, thanks for building your decks. Your budget deck inspired me to play Mikaeus and build one with a higher budget. I am wondering if you'd be interested in checking mine out: Mikaeus Infinite Combo Absurdity. I have avoided the flexibility goal of this one in exchange for a faster and more powerful version of the budget one.

I found a lot of the utility cards like Grave Pact and Maze of Ith to be more of a hinderance (too slow), but I can see where this approach would be better for playability.

In terms of suggestions, I would highly recommend adding back Heartless Summoning. Cards I really like that I would suggest would be Praetor's Grasp and Promise of Power

glsetlif: Glad you like it! As I don't own the above deck but built it as a hypothetical "high power" list, there are naturally some gaps to the list I would have overlooked, so I'm really grateful for your input! I'll check your list for inspiration once I have time :)

Chrome Mox, Mox Opal, and Mox Diamond would make great additions to your mana base if you have the opportunity for them.

Your deck very dependable from general, but i dont see good defense here, so why not to put something like that:

Champion's Helm

Swiftfoot Boots

Imp's Mischief

Good suc engines for your deck:

Diabolic Intent nice tutor

Gate to Phyrexia especially good cuz black lack of artifat removal

Other:

Animate Dead imho much better than Diabolic Servitude

Bubbling Muck not bad ramp

Exsanguinate you must put it in imho

And some removals of course not necessary, it's depends from meta you play with

Slaughter Pact

Snuff Out

Vendetta

Zulaport Cutthroat is just as key to this deck as blood artist. It should be an autoinclude, unless you have so many tutors that it doesn't matter if you have second blood artist.

have you thought about Attrition? its like a 1-sided board wipe with mikaeus in play

Sleazebag I don't have a wormcoil available, but I DO have a Massacre Wurm, how do you think that would work? I realize that it won't generate the extra tokens but does the increased potential for a boardwipe make up for that in any way? BTW why has everyone forgotten about Phyrexian Negator?

I like the deck a lot, gave me a reason to play commander in general (only have played since the start of Theros/end of Dragon's Maze, and barely can do modern or standard). I didn't see Altar of Dementia in the list, and I'm now wondering if it's banned in commander(I've been cheating), or if it was just too unreliable and/or slow?

December 2, 2015 8:47 p.m.

Cuz Altar of Dementia is sucks.

PolarMTG114: It doesn't suck, but it gets hardcountered by simply running an Eldrazi titan in your deck as it makes you immune to mill. As you can see, my other Mikaeus list does run it. Here I don't because Blasting Station does the job far better.

However, it IS an infinite combo. The eldrazi titan restarts the milling process each time it hits the yard. But, if you and the opponent are familiar with the concept of infinity, is it legal to infinitely repeat the milling process and skip to the point where the eldrazi titan and 1-2 other cards are the only cards left in the deck (it kind of depends on the power of the sacrificed creature).

Lanzo493: No,it doesn't work that way. Since it has a different outcome every time you're not allowed to shortcut it like that, and would get DQ'ed for slow play eventually.

Sleazebag Oh, that is true. I guess it's because my playgroup doesn't play any titans right now I never considered that. If I had Blasting Station I would use it either as a replacement or alternate combo to the Altar until titans show up. It seems I have better luck getting a rare from Conspiracy than getting an uncommon Darksteel. Thanks for answering, I appreciate it.

I didn't mean to assume I knew what I was talking about. It was supposed to be phrased like a question but I guess I forgot that in mid-sentence. Thanks for accidentally answering it anyway Sleazebag.

Dark depths and thespian

bipyridine: I've tried running this combo in EDH before and I didn't really feel it. Too many opponents to kill and it requires 2 hits per player.

Would you mind saying what you you switched for the non budget cards?

January 3, 2016 7:51 p.m.

In your description you talk about all of the combos with Hex Parasite, yet i couldn't seem to find the card listed in the deck list. Am i just missing the card, or is it actually not included in the deck list, and if so for what reason? thanks

You can use Sundial of the Infinite to keep control of all creatures put under your control with Puppeteer Clique without having to sacrifice them.
