Here's another suggestion I attempted to try out yesterday, but got defeated before putting it to use: Unexpected Potential
It comes in directly into the command zone (and I believe it doesn't factor in with our 99 deck cards, right?). We name Mikaeus and can then use any of our colorless mana producers to bring him out. I feel that for the early game, this is useful, especially when we're short of swamps and need it to bring out a sac-fodder at the same time.

Pretty sure all conspiracy cards are still banned in EDH

Hurmm...this is confusing. I was looking at this page here and conspiracy cards weren't on the list. Is there a more up to date banned list?
December 3, 2014 1 a.m.
They are banned in EDH because they are banned in Vintage.

pleasuresaurus, you should always look at the official EDH site under Deck Construction for EDH banned list (EDH is not a WotC created or run format, this is where the rules for it actually come from)
It is specified on that page that it uses a (heavily) modified version of the Vintage banned list

All Conspiracy type cards are illegal in ALL formats excluding conspiracy draft.
Cards from the conspiracy set itself are legal however, just not the conspiracies themselves.

There's a better version of this deck thats cheaper and has either more, or the same amount of infinite combos, but it has a score of 0 and only has 260 views....

yep. yes i would. also, you noticed, so i guess its werking. :)

@DERPLINGSUPREME Uhh, when you rip off someones deck and pretend it is yours, one of the dumbest things you can do is to go to the ACTUAL creator of the deck and brag about it.
You copy-pasted the decklist and even the description straight off here:
http://www.mtgdeckbuilder.net/Decks/ViewDeck/mikaeus-the-unhallowed-edh-12-budget-356179
(Maybe the fact that the username is the same should have ticked you off?)
Also, the version you ripped off is two years old. It's laughably weak compared to the current version which I have been streamlining for well.. Two years.

I tried looking into the decks he posts and pretty much all of them are ripped off from other sites.
Like "his" Mono-R control with Jaya Ballard! deck which is stolen from:
http://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/the-game/commander-edh/multiplayer-commander-decklists/217038-mono-r-control-with-jaya-ballard
Mikaeus infinite combos $12 Budget which is stolen from (me):
http://www.mtgdeckbuilder.net/Decks/ViewDeck/mikaeus-the-unhallowed-edh-12-budget-356179
The riddle of the $350 Impulse Purchase stolen from:
http://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/the-game/commander-edh/multiplayer-commander-decklists/568713-alexi-zephyr-mage-and-the-riddle-of-the-350
I'm sure there are more but I won't waste more time on this, any way of having this user banned?

Altar of the Brood, Blood Bairn, Mortician Beetle(upgrade section), and Swarm of Bloodflies I play a lot of standard, so 3 of these suggestions make sense. Haven't checked the deck to see if these cards have been added, sorry, I don't have the time to read it.
December 4, 2014 8:27 p.m.
Prima: I really like the Mortician Beetle suggestion, and it's only $0.15 actually! The others are too expensive really, Altar of the Brood doesn't work in my meta due to eldrazi but it is a great addition if they don't run it. I used to run Blood Bairn but took it out since I have so many other 3 drop sac outlets I didn't need more at that cost. The swarm of bloodflies is cool but it costs too much for not being able to sacrifice creatures itself.

Thanks for the heads up fenriskiba, much obliged. Btw, any thoughts on Bottomless Vault for mana?

@pleasuresaurus Bottomless Vault would be good at the begining of the game, but I think it would be a dead draw in mid game/late game. I must say I like those lands a lot, because I use them in a Paradox Haze deck. Because of the errata, we put a storage counter at the upkeep, and in this deck I can go up to 4 or 6 upkeeps, so those lands are worth it!

Hi all, been quiet here this past week so I thought I'd chime in.
We're starting up an EDH league over here at my place and after all the testing, I realize that having a single wincon in the form of Mikaeus, the Unhallowed can be dangerous in the sense that once opponents realize this is the only way we roll, we're screwed. Aside from getting countered and burned, there's also getting stone walled with land destruction cards like Decree of Annihilation. I'm wondering whether it would make sense to add either:
A) another alternative wincon that can go infinite without good guy mikaeus?
or
B) protection for him?
Mephidross Vampire works well with Triskelion but due to the price, is an upgrade at best.
One idea was to chain spells like Exsanguinate and Bitter Ordeal with Ashnod's Altar+Nim Deathmantle+Dread Drone. The infinite combo would then be able to stand alone independent of the Commander. Still, that requires us to have a lot of cards in place.
Another thought I had was to use Phyrexian mana based cards in our deck like Noxious Revival for graveyard retrieval and Apostle's Blessing to protect a key combo piece since it covers both creatuyres and artifacts.
By the way, found another 2 possible sac fodders that might be of interest:
Murderous Redcap - this one would work nicely with just a humble Ashnod's Altar

pleasuresaurus: Your train of thought is a good one, and is definitely what you aim for with a less budget version of mikaeus. The "goodstuff" required isn't cheap enough for the ridiculous restrictions. The moment you add cabal coffers, necropotence, demonic tutor and other amazing black cards this becomes a more reliablw approach
As for your two suggestions, unfortunately they count as white/black and red/black and can't be run in monoblack. I wish I could run redcap!

Hello World,
I had a few possible fits into the deck.
Blood Funnel - $0.19 cheaper and we always have sac fodder, right Bone Splinters - $0.08 1 mana kill spell (is a sorcery though) Dredge - $0.19 1 mana kill spell Phyrexian Soulgorger - $ 0.90 3 mana for an 8/8 Skulltap - $0.08 2 mana and you draw two cards
Also, I think you should replace Charcoal Diamond with Command Sphere because the latter has the draw card ability and is better late game (doesn't enter tapped)

Was wondering if you could help me understand combos a bit better. I've never relied upon combos, I still consider myself fairly new to Magic and in many of my previous decks I never looked for combos, I just wanted to get big creatures out to beat my enemy in the face with. One of the combos you mention is: Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Blasting Station + Tatterkite = Infinite Damage. How exactly does this work, I get that Tatterkite comes back because of Mikeaus' ability and that he doesn't get a counter so he can die again without getting the Undying counter, but wouldn't Blasting Station have to untap to do it again???Thanks for any help you can be to help me understand this a bit better, I'd plus 1 the deck, but I've already done it LOL
December 18, 2014 2:31 p.m.
Spencerbot15: Charcoal Diamond = 2 mana for 0 mana this turn, total cost = 2 mana. Commander's Sphere = 3 mana for 1 mana this turn, total cost = 2 mana. It entering untapped means nothing in terms of usability lategame. That said, it's awesome because it can draw a card. I was planning on putting it into the deck I just wanted to wait for the price to drop a bit further!
As for your other suggestions, if you tried the deck, you would quickly see that you do in fact very rarely have sac fodder. And when you do, it's because you are already winning. Most of those cards are only playable if I already have my sac combo in play. But at that point... I already have my sac combo in play! I'm winning! The draw and removal in my deck is there to help me get to that point.
DSHoyt: You overlooked the second ability on Blasting Station, Whenever a creature comes into play (Tatterkite when it returns from death counts), untap Blasting Station.

Phyrexian Soulgorger is definitely an interesting card in the early game, especially when paired with recurring critters like Reassembling Skeleton and Nether Traitor.
Problem is, once u get this bad boy out, it kinda raises a red flag to your opponents and they will start to notice you that much earlier in the game. And knowing how this deck moves, the last thing we want is attention from the entire table. This deck isn't an aggro one - you'll be sending the wrong signals. We want to remain unobtrusive for the first few turns until we've got enough mana and key pieces in place. These days, when I play this deck, I almost never attack with creatures to win the game - its much safer to surprise opponents with a Triskelion of Blasting Station + Tatterkite combination. And even then, we're likely to get burned.
Which brings me to another suggestion: Imp's Mischief. This could serve as a last ditch rescue in case an opponent decides to deep-six good guy mikaeus.
