landowicked: It's in the sideboard together with Altar of Dementia and Grinding Station due to only working against decks without Eldrazis. If you aren't in a meta with Eldrazi titans then they are a must have.

BiGYrri: I'm afraid I don't have a no budget version of Mikaeus yet. I'll have to get around to making one sometime. The problem is that it would likely be an entirely different deck!

What do you think of Retribution of the Ancients? This card rocks with undying!

Sleazebag says... #10

Krapak: You're absolutely right. Retribution of the Ancients is an awesome card in a Mikaeus deck. If you run Phyrexian Altar you can give all your opponents creatures infinite -X/-X while abusing infinite ETB / Die triggers.

Unfortunately, Phyrexian Altar is outside this decks budget. But if you run Phyrexian Altar, then this card is worth it! It's also good for abusing high power creatures like Kokusho, Rune-Scarred Demon and Gray Merchant. (With Rune-Scarred you can even tutor for Phyrexian Altar, sac it, fetch Retribution of the Ancients when it returns, play it, then tutor your entire library.)

Unfortunately it doesn't work too well without tons of black mana, which this deck doesn't have. But definitely a card worth running in a deck with a higher budget!

What do you think of Undying Price and Sidisi, Undead Viser?

March 12, 2015 7:39 p.m.

Sleazebag says... #12

Spencerbot15: I think they will be too expensive for this deck. :(

Sidisi especially is AWESOME. She is like a cheaper Rune-Scarred Demon in this deck! Once she rotates out of standard she will -maybe- drop enough for me to run her in this deck, but if you open one in a pack or during an event, don't hesitate to add her to the deck!

As for Ultimate Price, it is also a really good removal spell which again is just a bit too expensive for this deck. Hopefully now that it is getting reprinted the price will drop enough!

I still can't figure out what to take out just got ahold of Demonic Tutor still trying to figure out what to add and take out

Sleazebag says... #14

Lithion: Cut any of the 3 mana sac outlets. As there are so many of them in that slot you can afford to drop some when adding tutors. Devouring Swarm, Nantuko Husk, Phyrexian Ghoul

Ok well I'm still missing some cards and I can't seem to find them like Spincrusher so I'm trying to sub in some cards like Darksteel Plate

If it is not too much to ask, would you mind making a final version of this deck? By this I mean a non-budget version in which you would add some of the mentioned upgrades. I know it is not possible to add all the upgrades you mentioned, so I am looking for what you believe is the best final build.

Sleazebag says... #18

FirestormGTX: It would require a lot of work to make the "final" and fully complete edition, and it would look COMPLETELY different (thus not really work as a deck to work towards) so I'm not sure I can be bothered. There's a lot of people who ask for it though so maybe if I get an afternoon with nothing else to do I'll give it a shot!

Found Contagion Clasp while I was messing around with a different deck this morning.

Also Dying Wish could be useful against chump-blocking token decks for your EOT pump creatures.

Nevermind, thought Contagion Clasp was a creature. I'm an idiot.

Im curious how you feel about dusk urchins in the deck for the card draw? it keeps getting -1/-1 and would come back, also a good thing to sac if you get a -1/-1 on it.

Sleazebag says... #23

jgross18: Only works if Mikaeus is already in play, and if Mikaeus is already in play you hopefully have better things to do than a blocker that doesn't die!

12 votes in a day, what happened?

Either way, I want it to keep on happening more often!

I have decided to make a new version of this deck in between $100-200 since that may actually be relevant for people to use as deckbuilding inspiration. I will warn you ahead of time though, the decklist above us here has seen extensive playtesting to get into the form it is today (Probably like half the deck has been swapped out from the original), while the deck(s) I am making now are just "first editions" of how I would try to make my deck IF I were to upgrade it, so I won't be playtesting it and it won't be perfect!

Maybe one with "no budget" just to show you how it would look if I made it with zero restrictions (Would probably be at $2000 or so then.)
