Take a look at Retribution of the Ancients. It's cheap both in mana cost and card cost, and it combos beautifully with Undying. I think it would work perfectly in this deck.

Imoxator: It doesn't work in this deck as the creatures already go infinite on their own, removing the counters isn't necessary. It is amazing in pretty much all other Mikaeus decks (Including the non-budget version), especially with Phyrexian Altar.

Can you please explain the way that the counters go away? i don't understand how they can combo out. The only way i see how this would work right now, to me at least, would be with the Tatterkite.

Max13272: No problem, a +1/+1 counter and a -1/-1 negate each other, causing there to be ZERO counters on the creature, which means undying can trigger again.

Also, 999 vote hype.

i dont get this.... If you pair ANY of the cards from the left and right list, you have an infinite combo with Mikaeus in play!...

how is it infinite i understand that -1/-1 cancels out +1/+1... but in the game, they still get the counters do they not? the stats just cancel to keep them at a 0/0 (buff/debuff) but the Counters are still physically there.. so the undying only goes off one time...?

Dimukon: No, they remove each other entirely.

"121.2. If a permanent has both a +1/+1 counter and a -1/-1 counter on it, N +1/+1 and N -1/-1 countersare removed from it as a state-based action, where N is the smaller of the number of +1/+1 and -1/-1counters on it. See rule 704. "

IF it has both counters are removed in pairs until it only has one kind.

I like the expensive version, tweaked it a bit gonna build it, you should update it sometime

Man, how lame. Someone did a buyout of Infernal Darkness so the price increased by 500%

Let's hope the spike isn't permanent or I'll have to remove the card. Damn hoarders and speculators.

Mayybe Journey to the Underworld? I can't get it to link the card over the deck.

I have played with this deck using this card

Undying Evil

and I should say that it's just awesome card and one of only possible options to defend combo when pieces are in game.

It helps not only with sacrifice/destroy effects, but also with exile or change control effects if you cast this on general and then sac it.

Diabolic Revelation is also one just killing card.

TeOr: Diabolic Revelation is an amazing card, unfortunately it is too expensive. As for Undying Evil, I can try it out. It might be too situation, but if it does its job I'd be happy.

Poprox: I assume you meant Rescue from the Underworld! The problem with it is that you need to have a sacrificable creature in play in order use this, it is a good card to abuse ETB triggers, but in a deck without any good ETB triggers I don't see any reason to run this over Zombify.

AMAZING DECK! I had lots of these cards so the deck costed about $8.

September 6, 2015 midnight

I've slowly been tweaking this deck with some less budget cards and finally took it for a spin at my LGS. I wound up in a 4 player chaos duel and wiped everyone out on turn four. You, sir, are brilliant, and have created a deck that works like a dream! Needless to say, you've got my +1

Cole6000: Nice to hear. Many people have most of the cards lying around, which makes the deck much cheaper to build. In particular, if you have / trade yourself a Mikaeus, the Unhallowed, the rest costs almost nothing!

thenightmaremuffin: Thanks, and that's awesome to hear. I have a feeling the next time you bring that deck people will be a bit more wary. Still, if you can't win the first time you go infinite, theres always the next, and the one after that, and after that, and after that... Eventually it will stick and then you win.

Once Battle for Zendikar comes out I will be making lots of changes to the deck, so we will see an update then.

For now I just shoehorned in a few basics.

So far new cards to add to the Mikaeus deck that have been spoiled are:

  • Scour from Existence (WOOHOO!)
  • Mortuary Mire
  • Smothering Abomination (Seriously doubt it will be budget enough for this deck, but if it is then holy shit insta-add)
  • Complete Disregard (Colorless exile for 3 at instant speed. Only hits low power minions, but it might be worth it)

And half the set is still to come (and they usually spoil the bulk commons then, which is what this deck wants).

First off, love the deck. I'm planning on building it soon,

Second, Sleazebag I'm not understanding how you win when you're playing with multiple people. I understand that if you have Blasting Station or Altar of the Brood then you can ping/mill everyone, but if you have a Flesh-Eater Imp or something, what do you do? If you have four opponents, sure you can go infinite and hit one of them, but then the other three are going to see what you just did and then wipe you out. Is the plan to have SO much mana that you can play multiple infinite damage guys? Please help, I really wanna play this deck, but I don't want to go in blind.

Sleazebag says... #23

Mr.Pooky: Usually if I get the combo to kill one player, I try to take out the guy with the most disruption and removal to increase my chances the following turns. Of course, I always try to go for the table kill when I draw a tutor etc, which is most of the time!

Sleazebag: Loved the deck but what is the maybe board for? If Blasting Station is in the maybe side how will I do the Blasting station combo? Or is that for sidedeck?

OK that makes sense, thanks Sleazebag!
