DasTree: Yes, Haunted Cloak is pure awesome.

Haven't added it yet since the card isn't out yet and I don't really know what the price of the card will be, but it IS going in eventually.

For most of the cards you can see the price at the bottom, and for Haunted Cloak it's 36 cents (at the time of this writing)

Is there some way I can buy an amazing proxy Mikaeus? I am not skilled nor do I have the materials to make it myself. Thanks!

Check Lethix Gaming

By the way, if you look at the commander Mikaeus on this page, you'll find that the card artwork doesn't look like a conventional Mikaeus. That's because its a picture of the proxy card.

Note: At time of this comment, Lethix doesn't seem to have Mikaeus in stock. I didn't really look though

Two more mana ramp cards: Plague Myr which also gives you an infect outlet for -1/-1 and then Palladium Myr for two colorless mana.

I would also suggest Prototype Portal so you can copy artifacts, specifically mana generators or artifact lands. Of you can double tokens...well let's just say one of my EDH decks can spit out 4 free mana a turn, outside of the normal one I play.

Ramp is always good....

Prototype portal is too expensive for his theme of under 20, and I'm not sure why this deck would want infect outlets.

What would you take out for cauldron of souls and blasting station.

April 15, 2016 2:07 p.m.

Sleazebag says... #10

braderus9: Cauldron of Souls isn't really necessary in the deck because pretty much everything comes back on its own and if it doesn't, it doesn't have a relevant ETB. I wouldn't run this unless I also run cards like Kokusho, Grey Merchant, Solemn, Rune-Scarred Demon, Sidisi and other expensive staples with good ETB effects.

Blasting Station? One of the best possible additions to make. Take out a 3 CMC sac outlet, like Phyrexian Ghoul or Nantuko Husk.

chosenone124 & leon_bulminot: Chosenone basically answered that for me. Portal costs too much, infect doesn't really do anything at all in this deck (It gives your opponents -1/-1 counters, and only if it deals damage to them). Palladium Myr is great, but I had to take it out because it was too expensive (Over 50 cents!) but if you have it, then I recommend running it.

What are you planning on replacing Altar of Dementia and Nevinyrral's Disk with (considering their recent price hikes)?

What about life draining effect like blood artist? He's too expansive for the deck but Zulaport Cutthroat and Falkenrath Noble both do pretty much the same thing for under a dollar and i think it would be nice to have this kind of effect in the deck for situations when you can create an infinite loop with a sac fodder and let's say Bloodthrone Vampire but can't attack because he doesn't have haste, basically a loop that's not a wincon by itself. What do you think?

Jay3401: I really recommend running zulaport and Blood Artist. I used to run Blood Artist but took it out due to the pricing, I added Zulaport instead but it also got more expensive so I cut that too.

Falkenrath could work, but at 4 mana it always felt too expensive.

Here is my take on the might of this deck. Will you please let me know what you think? Semi-Budget Mikaeus

Have you considered Thornbite Staff? It's an equipment version of mixture betweenBlasting Station and Goblin Sharpshooter. Equip to mikaeus or any creature that doesn't have summoning sickness (especially fun with a tap abilities). Mikaeus with persist creatures will make infinite untaps and ping them down by 1

Woops reevaluated the card and realized you have to pay 2 in order to deal one damage. Sorry about that. I can't seem to delete comments on here

Technically, if you combine it with Ashnod's Altar, an infinite sac outlet, and Mikaeus played on the previous turn, it goes infinite. But...

TokenIke says... #19

True but then it becomes a 4 card combo which makes it harder.

I know tons of cards have been suggested so I hesitate to ask, but I'm thinking about running Necrotic Ooze and was wondering if anyone has ran it in their build? It seems pretty good, a lot of times my key combo piece for a combo will get dealt with. With no access to recursion, this guy could act as a sort of copy of Phyrexian Ghoul, Spincrusher etc.

May 3, 2016 4:50 p.m.

Sleazebag says... #21

Myrik: The more high budget competetive lists often use Necrotic Ooze as their win-condition.

Buried Alive getting Necrotic Ooze, Triskelion and Phyrexian Devourer. Then reanimate Necrotic Ooze for instant win.

But yes, Necrotic Ooze does seem like he could be worth trying! I'm not sure if its flexibility of being usable as both parts of a combo piece makes up for the drawback of having to have one in your graveyard first.

If I own a ashmods's altar, should I play for infinite mana?

May 5, 2016 3:48 p.m.

chosenone124 says... #23

If you run Ashnods, you should also run Zulpaport Cutthroat and Blood Artist. And yes, infinite mana is handy

May 5, 2016 5:28 p.m.

DasTree says... #24

How would Necrotic Ooze be an instant win?

May 6, 2016 11:13 p.m.

Sleazebag says... #25

DasTree: Necrotic Ooze will have the activated abilities of both Triskelion and Phyrexian Devourer.

  • Activate Phyrexian Devourers ability. If the cards converted mana cost is 3 or lower, let it resolve (If you used Animate Dead, CMC 4 works since it reduces the power by 1.)
  • Then activate Triskelion's ping ability to remove the counters.
  • If the cards converted mana cost is greater than 3(4) then just activate the ability again without letting it resolve.

You will end up exiling most of your library and deal in between 80-140 damage.
