Yes, but once Mikaeus comes out the altars don't cost me a creature to activate, since they come right back. It lets me power combos like Phyrexian Altar and Infernal Tribute as soon as the pieces hit the board. Black Market has to wait until the next turn.
I don't typically sac creatures before Mikaeus comes out anyway, unless it's to ramp into him, like with Sacrifice. Black Market is a 5 drop, so it's not that good for ramping into Mikaeus, who comes out next turn anyway. I don't like the idea of giving my opponent an entire turn to remove it before it pays off. But mana ramp is really useful in this deck, so I think it'll keep a spot.

Thanks, it's my favorite by far. I put the first version together the first day Mikaeus got spoiled. I saw him when I got to work on Monday, and had the proxies printed by the end of the day :)

Just thought of something. You know how you can't go infinite because of the static +1/+1? What about Heartless Summoning?

@Internet: Check out the description under sac outlets, there are a whole bunch of cards that let me sac creatures to get some benefit like pumping creatures, drawing cards, getting mana, etc.
@Ohthenoises: I tried it at the beginning, it didn't work very well unfortunately :( The problem is that I really only need it before Mikaeus comes out. At that point a lot of my creatures just die immediately to it without any benefit, including some of my best dudes like Hell's Caretaker, Devouring Swarm and Hex Parasite. 9 games out of 10 by the time I get Mikaeus on the board I have some kind of combo ready to go. It did help ramp him out even faster, but it was too much of a pain to work around the drawback so I took it out. I'm rarely without some way to sac my creatures, so the static buff doesn't cause too much trouble.

Took out Attrition for new creature Blood Artist. I have plenty of creature removal that's faster than Attrition. Blood Artist should be obvious :)

That's the main point of the decks that the people I play with make. My friend made a Tempered Steel deck as his first deck, before anyone else had a deck good enough to compete with it. Everyone got mad, and refused to play him with that deck. XD

The reason I'm so drawn to this deck is because I have about half the cards that go in it, and the cards I don't have are either easily available to me or in my budget.

Oh, Geralf's Messenger? A good undying creature and has a worthwhile "comes into play" effect.

Good suggestion, I swapped out Victimize for Altar of Dementia . I never really needed to get my creatures back, there are too many different win conditions to worry about any single creature.
As far as Platinum Emperion goes, you don't really get to have creatures on the battlefield when you play against this deck. :) But I really want to see the look on everyone's face when I mill them all out with a mono-B deck.

@hunter9000 I made a deck similar to yours undying combos. Check it out for what i changed (such as adding the Altar of Dementia )

The altars are good and give you instant mana for sacrificing a creature, but Black Market gives you mana for each counter on it every turn. So your dead creature is good for 1 mana every turn instead of just once. You also get to put a counter on it when ANY creature dies, so you are getting extra mana every time somebody wipes the board. If you manage to get Black Market AND an altar out you will get 1 mana right away from the altar and still get to put a counter on market for mana next turn.
