Wondering if I should swap Ruin Crab from the sideboard with Foulmire Knight , or if there is a better option?

Is Ashiok, Sculptor of Fears the right move for this deck, or would something else work better?

Little confused why it’s called no-rouge mil when the first card on the list is a rouge. Lol

I run Relic Golem in my mil deck. Makes for good board presence they are a 6/6 for 3 mana.

Fair point on the name. I should have put "homebrew" instead, I did this because most of the feedback I got was "just turn it into a rogue mill deck" -- but I don't want this to be someone else's deck, I want help refining my homebrew concept.

Relic Golem seems like a perfect fit, thank you! It also gives Call of the Death-Dweller more of a justification of being in there.

But what should I remove? I keep going back-and-forth on removing King Narfi's Betrayal , but it's helpful for that self-mill/discard that the deck needs.

When ever I’m struggling to fit a card into a deck, I trim down the copies to make room. Then play it for a while to see if it really fits well. Might be the best option.

Interesting take on the mill plan.

I'm glad to see Sphinx Mindbreaker used here, and mixing it with Obsessive Stitcher and Malakir Rebirth  Flip seems promising. I do feel like running 4 Sphinx Mindbreaker seems like a lot though since Obsessive Stitcher is your only reliable way to cheat it into play. Using a 6 mana Ashiok, Sculptor of Fears (that's pretty bad otherwise) that might still be there to play it from the graveyard on the next turn doesn't seem like the greatest idea. I think 3 would be more reasonable.

I like the inclusion of Ghostly Pilferer since it should line-up nicely against all the foretell cards in the meta, but I feel like Vantress Gargoyle would serve you better in the main board both for staying alive, your mill plan, or winning with damage.

You are running very few lands at 21 for a deck that means that runs a bunch of high CMC cards that also wants to keep up mana for instants and creature abilities. Personally I would remove the 2 Ashiok, Sculptor of Fears and add 2 lands, probably a Castle Vantress and a Castle Locthwain .

Drown in the Loch is an amazing card in here, but it being your only counterspell and your only removal, it will have a lot of heavy lifting to do. A few Saw It Coming or Heartless Act could go a long way. You could probably cut a few Relic Golem or Ghostly Pilferer since you won't get much value out of too many creatures out at the same time with abilities you need to pay for anyway.

Hopefully these are useful, cheers!

Hey DanMcSharp - You helped me make this deck much better, especially with Heartless Act . I've been testing it a bunch in Arena, and although it's not the deck I used to get to Mythic rank, it hasn't knocked me out of it. Let me know what you think of its current state!

Hello again Blotterhead, I'm glad to see that my suggestions were useful!

Good job getting to mythic btw. If this deck can compete there as is, that probably speaks for itself, it's aight. You probably shouldn't change too much, but personally I started switching away from running 4 Heartless Act in other decks because I kept getting stuck with 2-3 of them in hand against Luminarch Aspirant and other stuff with counters, so instead I usually prefer running 2 Heartless Act and 2 Eliminate . It could be useful for you too since you would have other options with Drown in the Loch and Bloodchief's Thirst anyway for bigger creatures.

You could try switching an Island for a Mystic Sanctuary just so you can occasionally get back something like Drown in the Loch , which could be enough to make some people concede. It's also a much better top deck compared to any other land if you end up empty handed since you could get an Into the Story ready for next turn.

Cheers!

Thanks DanMcSharp

I love the idea of running 2 Heartless Act and 2 Eliminate , I can't wait to try it out!
