Are you saying add an additional Crypt Incursion ?

No no I'm saying good choice. No need to run more than 2 since you probably will use it once in a game.

We need a way to counter white weenie and merfolk tribal... they're too fast for our decks.

I'm trying to decide which boardsweep is best. Damnation works well, but the time it can take if things aren't countered properly or I can't manage to grab what I need to get with IOK is a problem. If there was only something a little quicker as Black Sun's Zenith doesn't cut it most of the time

Damnation is too slow, by the time we get it we'll be dead. The -X/-X idea is nice... need a more reliable way that targets all creatures (I don't care about my crabs/phantasms if I can clear their board.)

That might actually work... I could cast that on turn 4, force them to pay 3 life per merfolk (by then they would have about 4 or 5 of them) they want to keep.

I... love... this deck... I always tried to make a mill deck with my own cards, but it never worked well. Your deck looks amazing! +1!

I discovered something and would like to discuss it:
Surgical Extraction would indeed remove Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and his brethren from the game when put on the stack upon entering the yard, however the 'shuffle graveyard into library' trigger still happens. So, what could we mill decks utilize to ensure all our hard work is not in vain?

Graveyard hate in Relic of Progenitus or Leyline of the Void .

Leyline of the Void is a good idea against Emrakul, the Aeons Torn .

Not a bad milling creature but it's just too slow for how the deck is played. I turbo mill and I'm hoping the game is over by the time I need 5 mana

Hi dude, sorry for my delay in the reply
I've playing and sharpening my deck UBW Esper Mill for several months and adding and testing a couple of modifications from the original list, resulting I've acquired some experience playing in different places (although their top8's was similar) and I think I'm now able to answer your question. In every competitive mill strategy the 'core of milling' must include the following cards:4x Hedron Crab: Assuming you're playing a solid mana base with fetch lands, want to drop on 1 a crab
4x Glimpse the Unthinkable: I subscribe your comments. Best turn 2 mill card
2/3/4x Snapcaster Mage: You can bounce any spell from your graveyard, since Deathrite was banned. It is good in itself, like a birthday party XD I play 2 because normally in my strategy I may not spent enough mana to play the flashback hability more than a chance.
4x Mesmeric Orb: Is a peculiar artifact that has been slowly liking to me. Now I consider fundamental. One puts the milling engine tempo, most of opponents underestimate its effect when read for the first time. The acceleration of the second is dangerous if you don't have a compact hand, three or four becomes insanity. As fewer cards are left in the deck of the adversary, the power of "mill orb control" increases like the fear to get decked.
3/4 x Mind Funeral: I consider the mill ultimate. I took 4 in main trying to assure play two in every match.
4x Archive trap: Normally, if there's a trap trigger you'll win, or at least take advance in the mental duel. If you're casting for his mana cost, maybe would be an improvisational ultimate but in this situation normally you're more near to lose.
The remaining cards complete deck and board and the final result are the different mill strategies. You play Jace's Phantasm and I think it's a good idea if you want to have an alternative win condition and some strong flying blockers while you're taking advantage of the situation by milling, also ancestral visions, but there are many archetypes that take advantage from graveyards, and many people get hate against them on their sideboards. If you can't win by mill just mill faster ;)That's only my humble opinion. Take a tour on UBW Esper Mill and all suggestion will be appreciated.

A good budget substitute for Glimpse the Unthinkable is Breaking . I picked up 2x Glimpse when it was $10-13 and thought it was salty then...
I'm not sold on Mesmeric Orb . It has definite potential if you are benefiting from the yard, but the fact it hits you too is disconcerting. What if I need the land, PtE, etc?
I'm running 2x Jace's Phantasm alongside 2x Wight of Precinct Six . Both have proven to be fantastic, but have counter synergy with Leyline of the Void , Crypt Incursion , etc. However in those matchups, i.e. Living End and other graveyard strategies, straight up Mill does the trick.
Super fast Aggro decks like Robots/Affinity, RDW, and the ilk are difficult to deal with. I need to board Hurkyl's Recall for Bots and Crypt Incursion really saves the day.
My fellow Wizard of the Mill, keep on decking in the free world!
