when using my mill deck I have noticed how well Paranoid Delusions and Deathcult Rogue work out, and Nightveil Specter helps out a lot too for me

Pretty nice deck you have here. But it seems like you may be confused on your win conditions. All of them are valid, but I've always had more luck sticking to one main win condition with a trusty backup. What I mean is, you may want to choose between damage or mill for your mainboard and save the other one for sideboard.Consuming Aberration is a sweet card, do you use him to attack every turn or sit back and defend Jace? I use mine to defend along with my Jace's Phantasm s as opposed to attacking. I would replace the Victim of Night s with Devour Flesh since you seem to be concerned about mana cost (referring to the Breaking/Mind Sculpt discussion), or Tribute to Hunger if you don't like your opponent gaining life. To me it doesn't matter, my win condition is pure mill and so far Devour Flesh has worked swimmingly, especially since it can get rid of indestructibles. I also sideboard Wight of Precinct Six in case I'm playing a control deck or something. One card I would definitely get rid of is Duskmantle Guildmage . I could write a list a mile long with cards that would suit you better, but I won't bore you any longer. Sorry if I'm coming off as arrogant or something, I just really like mill decks and I see a lot more you could do with this deck. Check out my page for some mill ideas. I believe there are two mill decks there, one for Standard and one for Legacy. I think both of them I've updated in real life though so forgive me if they look a little sloppy. AAAAAAAAAAAnyway GG+1 lol

P.S.: I am ALL about some Pilfered Plans when it releases this Friday. :) Mirko Vosk doesn't really seem like he's going to work with my theme, but then again you never know till you give it a shot! Also excited about Notion Thief , reap intellect , etc once released.

Just thought of how Heartless Summoning could be neat if you really want to push Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker and Consuming Aberration ...

That would be neat, but I think making Mirko a 1/3 would make him an easy target.

because wwhitegoldd suggested all these cards, i have 1 question willsm87 ....are you using cards you actually own or just throwing a deck together on here?

@jaggthemiller I'm using cards that I actually own.

@wwhitegoldd I will look into getting those cards that you suggested. I currently only have 1x Breaking and only 1x Nephalia Drownyard .

I didn't notice it before but I like that you made a good deck for way under a hundred bucks.

Have you tried Pilfered Plans over Breaking ? Personally I prefer it. Helps with a little extra mill, but the draw two really pays off. I playtested both and found I liked Pilfered Plans better for my own Dimir mill deck: Kill Mill, Vol. 1.

I have a mill deck that is just based off of creatures and it's pretty annoying for my friends when they play against me. In my opinion I would drop the Codex Shredder and 2 Jace, Memory Adept . Replace them with 3 Dying Wish that way you can slap them on your Consuming Aberration so your opponent doesn't get any bright ideas. I'd also consider throwing in Undercity Informer as a back up card just in case they try stealing your Consuming Aberration that way you can just sack it and end the game.

You may want to consider dropping Jace (I know very difficult) and add in 4x AEtherize and remove the 2x Victim of Night and replace with 1x Cyclonic Rift . try it out. I know removing Jace would be hard, but you should consider his casting cost of 5 may get you 1-20 cards milled before your opponent kills him. With your build it looks like you'd be able to win by the time you could cast Jace safely

i agree with you spker it would be safe for you to drop him and add a few more control

Awesome deck! I ordered one and I'm loving it! My only question is why the Cyclonic Rift ? With just one it seems too unreliable to count on drawing consistently.

Nom I was trying to think up a way to take care of an oblivion ring or something else nasty, such as a planeswalker about to ultimate. I'm debating sideboarding it, but not sure what to put in for it.

Why no Mindcrank to run with the Duskmantle Guildmage ? Perfect loop and great wincon :)

willsm87 says... #24

CykGuitarist, That's a neat idea, but Mindcrank isnt standard, so I cant use it in this deck.

I would consider adding some Crypt Incursion at least into the side board to deal with the quick start aggro attacks.
