Shelldock Isle has been good for me, it usually triggers in a mill deck and you can use Entering that way! Also... And I know it's $$$ but Damnation is really good with so few creatures.

robrone9 Damnation is really expensive so not going to include it, but I have a Languish and some Crux of Fate 's maybe I can include them.

I'd also highly recommend Mesmeric Orb. It's really good and downright hilarious against tokens.

If it was standard I would add Sphinx's Tutelage to the deck. But Sphinx's Tutelage is a relatively slow card for me atm. Also I was thinking about Day's Undoing + Leyline of the Void but again it's a little bit slow.

Leyline of the Void can work great if you don't play Jace's Phantasm.

robrone9 I just checked your mill deck and if it's possible I want to hear your thoughts about jaces in the deck. Do you think an Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver would be better?

Hello BlinddragonI have some months playing this kind of Decks and I have some thinks to recomend you.

First of all, congratulations for the really grat job you did.

You sai'd that you are going to play with a tron. So, I'm sorry, but you will never win him with this deck. Tron has cards like the Emrakul, the Aeons Torn that when they go to a graveyard from anywhere, it's controller shuffles his graveyard into his deck. So first of all you'll need to exile him while he's into the library, because one time it's into the battlefield, you'll find imposible to exile him, because he have protection from colored spells.

So, I recomend you cards like Sadistic Sacrament to have in your Sideboard. If your opponent has already draw it and he got's it into his hand, you'll need Appetite for Brains. Are such good cards to beat the tron, because you can exile all the annoying cards before the go into the battlefield. One more thing, if you have bad luck, and you need to draw the cards mentioned before, you can go for Mystical Tutor. T'ts a really good combination to have in your sideboard in case you know you are going to fight a Tron, or a Twin instead, because you can ruinate the combo before your opponent have the chance of playing it.

One more thing I'm gonna recomend you is to take off the Thoughtseize. It's really good to know what your opponents have in their hands, but we are playing mill, we need all our life because we are not putting any crature to deffend, so I recomend you to use Doom Blade instead of the other one. In case you're playing against a monoblack deck or a deck with all black creature, you can use Go for the Throat, or in extreme case you are playing agains monoblack artifact deck you can play Ultimate Price.

And that's all, congratulations for your deck, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Go for it and win everybody!

One more thing Blinddragon.

Jace, Vryn's Prodigy  Flip is unusefull in this deck. You allready have a good planeswalker in you're deck. So I think another Tome Scour would be better in this deck.

Another card that I play is Jace's Erasure, a really good enchantment for turn down your opponents, milling one card without playing nothing in each of your turns. It's actually good to play with all your instants for drawing cads.

Thank you for everything. It really helped though. Atm I'm thinking about replacing Jace, Vryn's Prodigy  Flip with an Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver and Jace's Erasure holds the place of my precious Glimpse the Unthinkable so I must say no to that. Thank you all for your precious advices.

@blinddragon This deck looks great! +1! I have a very similar deck where I use a few more creatures instead of the archive trap combo. Please check it out if you have time. I'm not sure if I made it public or w/e because I still have no comments lol. Working at the Mill

You can win against tron even with shuffle trigger- run any one of these cards- Ravenous Trap, Leyline of the Void, Relic of Progenitus (there are more if you run white namely Rest in Peace. But you just respond to the shuffle trigger emptying their graveyard so they shuffle 0 cards back in.I'd move the Mesmeric Orb main board as it will keep you from being dead on board if they have any thing that gives them hexproof. And consider Darkness as it can buy you a turn.

If you want some inspiration feel free to check out my deck-http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/19-06-15-esper-mill/

I'm really thinking of splashing some white but atm I don't have the needed money for fetchlands. When I get the money probably I'll splash it for some tricks. Maybe path to exile or erase.Btw Darkness looks really good. Because generally I mill my opponent on turn 5 or 6 and that card will give me the needed time I guess. Thank you very much.

The esper list I run is after months of testing. White adds Path to Exile and all sorts of side boarding options such as Rest in Peace. Esper is where you will want to be eventually I think.

Also, thought I posted this before but I guess not lol...

Ashiok is the only walker for modern mill. The rest are too slow IMHO.

i use Surgical Extraction, Tormod's Crypt and Hurkyl's Recall vs those decks. Here is how mine looks atm. http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/21-05-15-don-quixotes-death/

You don't want darkness. Once you are top decking... At best you delay them one turn and they swing back with the same creatures. They probably just keep developing thier board and swing with more. Just run another mill spell.

Day's Undoing and Sphinx's Tutelage does absolutely nothing for you except undo all the work you did.

August 5, 2015 7:30 a.m.

DragonzBane says... #21

Yes, Day's Undoing will actually work against you. You might actually want to have a counter or two incase someone wants to play it(Dissipate or Mana Leak for instance) . I also have to second Tormod's Crypt because it will help against eldrazi. Because you can't win if they have an eldrazi deck since it will reset their graveyard if the eldrazi stay there. Tap the Crypt in response to the eldrazi hitting the graveyard and the problem goes away.

August 8, 2015 8:45 a.m.

Jace's Phantasm is a very powerful blocker/beater in Mill decks. Turn one Jace's Phantasm, turn two Glimpse the Unthinkable puts your opponent on a very short clock. Also, Oboro, Palace in the Clouds will ensure a land drop for Hedron Crab every turn with virtually no drawback.

August 27, 2015 2:53 a.m.

You could also afford to drop white completely and replace Path to Exile with Dismember so you can stick to just U/B

It looks like a good setup for a hard mill, but it leaves you very open. I've been working on a Modern Dimir setup as well, feel free to check it out for some ideas: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/modern-dimir-control-mill/

I tend to keep things a little control oriented, but it has been working well for me thus far.
