Milling has no color, nor do broken Eldrazis

Commander: Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger

When Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger was spoiled I was so happy, because I always wanted to make a colorless deck, and milling was the first archetype I ever tried with The Mimeoplasm.

Even in commander with a 99 cards deck, 20 cards in one single strike is a lot, with all the other effects. Also, the cast effect exiles two problematic permanents, and my commander is indestructible. I think that those two additional reasons make it a really good commander.

This is an unusual deck, I know, but I think that is the idea in commander: build crazy things that people have never seen before.

Use all the available artifacts to mill really fast an opponent. I think this could do well in 1vs1, because you just need to attack with your commander, not even hit. You are sure to win in less than 5 turns with the commander alone!

I have found a cool little trick to do with the eldrazis: since they have a CAST effect, they cannot be abused by bounce. Cloudstone Curio is here for us. The only thing we need to do is to cast another creature, then return an eldrazi to our hands!

I have decided to run 3 of the "old" Eldrazi: Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre, Kozilek, Butcher of Truth and Artisan of Kozilek for many reasons. First, they fit the tribal theme. Second, even if they do not have milling abilities, they all help this strategy. A lot of the cards I run to mill can also mill myself. The two titans are good to shuffle my entire graveyard back to prevent killing myself, and the Artisan of Kozilek can get me back a creature that I milled myself or one that was destroyed. Also, the two titans have utility when they are casted, some difficult things to achieve in those colors (draw and removal).

I also decided to include the other Eldrazi, to make an Eldrazi tribal EDH. That way, I can have another win condition than simply mill. Also, a couple mill effects in the deck are based on damage (Mindcrank and Crumbling Necropolis), so Eldrazi are the perfect to deliver a lot.

Since the Eldrazi have a so high mana cost (that is why the average CMC of the deck is kinda high), I decided to include a lot of mana rocks to be able to ramp easily into them. If you have any suggestions for better mana rocks than the ones I have includes, don't be afraid to comment!

To be even more evil, I decided to pack la d destruction in this deck. In colorless? Yes, with a couple lands and Crucible of Worlds! This card is amazing in commander! It let/ me replay lands like Strip Mine to lock a player out of the game. Also, as I said before, a couple of the milling cards are also milling me, so being able to replay a land that was milled or destroyed can always be good. Crucible of Worlds is really good to bring back lands I sacrificed to Lotus Vale or Scorched Ruins and can also be used to get even more value of Crystal Vein and Buried Ruin.

There is another cool trick I found (I know, there are a lot right?) while looking at some artifacts: copying abilities with Strionic Resonator and Rings of Brighthearth. The first one lets me do insane things in this deck: exile 40 cards instead of 20, get two activation of a cast effect, anihilator 8 instead of 4, etc. The second one lets me abuse the milling effects from my artifacts, because many come from an activated ability, and also abuse the abilities of my planeswalkers. They are the main source of removal in this deck, and even if they don't get double the loyalty counters, two activations is still pretty good. Also, please note the infinite combo with Basalt Monolith + Rings of Brighthearth .

Card draw in this deck mainly comes in the form of mana stones: Mind Stone, Hedron Archive and Dreamstone Hedron can all accelerate my plays and be sacrificed later when they are no longer required. Some other cards, like Kozilek, Butcher of Truth and Mikokoro, Center of the Sea , are also really good, because they are not only use to draw.
