Liliana's Caress and placing a Whispering Madness on any flying creature and then using it's cypher ability has one me a many of games with this deck even before the milling happens.

I woukd keep the Dimir Keyrune . It adds to the amount of mana you have, making your deck faster. Also, you can put cipher cards on it, they won't be exiled permanently as soon as Dimir Keyrune becomes an artifact again.
If you want Whispering Madness to come through more often, you could add a couple of Invisible Stalker s. Cards like Midnight Recovery and Shadow Slice also have nice effects that can be ciphered.
I would lose Tamiyo, the Moon Sage ASAP. She doens't really add anything to the deck. The no maximum handsize is fun, but a Reliquary Tower or a Spellbook is easier. I would also advise against the Consuming Aberration , it paints to big of a target precisely in the middle of your face. It would work one on one, in multiplayer it finishes you in the second turn after playing it.

Awesome! Thanks for the help! It's true, the only reason Tamiyo, the Moon Sage is in there is for the cool factor haha To replace my 2 Consuming Aberration 's, would you recommend placing 1 more each of Nemesis of Reason and Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker ?

I took out Tamiyo, the Moon Sage and the Dimir Cluestone 's. I replaced them with a couple of Deathcult Rogue 's and added another Jace's Phantasm . I would have liked the Invisible Stalker better, but I did not have any =/ I think that I will keep the Consuming Aberration 's in there for one on one play, but I haven't decided on replacements for a multiplayer match. Ideally I would like some more Jace, Memory Adept 's, but I don't have the money to buy more cards now at the moment haha

Deathcult Rogue , sweet. Consuming Aberration is real nice for the 1v1.
If you want to play Jace more often, you could throw in a diabolic tutor. Also, maybe something like Twincast . To double expensive spells for UU.
Your deck looks nice

Thanks a bunch! This deck is definitely playing just that much better since I made the changes to it! I've now been experimenting with making it Standard Legal. To do so I have to take out Mind Funeral , Liliana's Caress , and Nemesis of Reason . It really sucks that liliana isn't legal in standard because that takes out my Whispering Madness combo with it. In total I would have to replace 8 cards... I was thinking about possibly adding 2 more Breaking / Entering 's, 3 more Jace, Memory Adept 's, another Jace's Phantasm , and maybe 2 more Mind Grind 's? I'm not too sure what I want to do with it yet. I experimented with placing Shadow Slice and Mind Sculpt as well as a few others, but those 3 cards are just really hard to replace haha

Check out my modern mill. Consistent t3-5 win. May give you some ideas? Where's your deck dude?

yaaa I REALLY wanted to get Glimpse the Unthinkable but it was out of my price range to build the deck originally. Sure thing tho, I'll check it out!

I run a mill deck as well and i think you should definitely run a Szadek, Lord of Secrets
August 22, 2013 7:14 p.m.
In a good mill deck, you would have won waaaay before you could think about casting that. But that would make an amazing mill general!

That is a really cool card! but asax is right, I never really get to turn 8 or so with this deck. I'd definitely like to acquire some just to try it though!

I'm thinking about getting rid of Balustrade Spy . Do you think I should replace them with a spell or another creature? And if so what card? =o

I only have one copy at the moment and I've had mixed results with it in the deck... oh! What if I put some Ghost Quarter 's in there as well!
August 27, 2013 1:41 a.m.
This deck is AWESOME dude.Great job. Love all the spells, love the creature selection, just love it.Milling is such a fun way to kill people.
Personally I'd go with 4x Consuming Aberration instead of the 2x Nemesis of Reason though.
August 27, 2013 6 p.m.
Cut 2 Ghost Quarter add 2 Archive Trap . U don't want too many colorless lands with most of ur spells dual colors. And Archive Trap will have plenty of triggers with all the fetch lands in modern. And if you needed more triggers for it you could splash white forPath to Exile . Loads of uses for that card.
August 27, 2013 7:31 p.m.
Also if u do splash white drop Crypt Incursion for Rest in Peace

hmm... Yeah I see what you mean Asax. Would you recommend still keeping 2 archive traps in play and adding back my normal lands? I haven't really put much thought into adding any white into this deck before, but that definitely would add some more versatility! I'm not too certain that it would add to my deck though... I think I will experiment with making another deck u/b/w to see what's up though!
And thanks luvr117! It is an extremely fun deck to play and as with any well built deck, every game offers different strategies and brings a unique experience. I think you may be on to something though however. In playing many games with this deck, Consuming Aberration has proved to be more effective most of the times. I think I might do just that!
August 28, 2013 12:07 a.m.
Might consider 4x Paranoid Delusions instead of the Caress and the madness. Just a thought so you don't have to throw away your hand.
The cipher triggers the aberration for extra milly goodness :3.
August 28, 2013 2:44 a.m.
If u keep Archive Trap at all you need some triggers so keep the Ghost Quarter s in.. just 2 of though cuz you don't wanna have that as your only land drop in hand t1-2 because then you miss your t2 Glimpse the Unthinkable . I recommend keeping Archive Trap and upping it to 3-4 of simply because if u only run 2 you have less chance of having it in hand when you have a chance to use it. If your having trouble acquiring it you could run 2-3 traps and 1-2 Trapmaker's Snare in essence when you have a chance to trap with Archive Trap not in hand but with a Trapmaker's Snare in hand, you have a 2 drop mill 13.
So to summarize, I recommend 4x Archive Trap /Trapmaker's Snare in whatever number of copies of each you want that = 4. Keep the Ghost Quarter s as a 2 of (You'll end up not getting one every game but probably every other game.) incase you go up against rdw or something that doesn't use fetch lands..destroy his land and he'll say "psht yeah I'll go get a land..idiot" then you laugh as you windmill a trap down!..anyway..its a good card and I recommend it in every mill deck not standard.

Have I linked you my modern mill? Consistent t3 win. Have won 5 games on t1 so far thanks to Archive Trap !

@luvr
Ya I like Paranoid Delusions as well! I'm usually not too concerned with losing my hand when I make that combo happen though. I actually prefer to lose a bigger hand! If I have 6 cards and my opponent has 3, he'll lose 6 life. Then he'll draw 6 and I'll cipher it onto Deathcult Rogue or Jace's Phantasm and deal him 12 more life on top of the damage from the creatures. Over 20 HP in one swoop! It also helps out if I only have a couple of cards in my hand and I need to gain more cards. All the while putting cards in my opponents graveyard :p

hmm... I've decided to go with 4 Archive Trap 's, but I'm having trouble figuring out where to stick 2 more in! I was thinking either take another Consuming Aberration and Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker out or the 2 Duskmantle Guildmage 's, but I use both of those a lot!!
cutthroughthedawn says... #1
Getting rid of the Dimir Keyrune and Dimir Cluestone soon. They aren't really helping all that much. The deck is still slamming though! I may add another Jace's Phantasm and a couple more Jace, Memory Adept 's to the picture if I do.
