So have is a good card obviously but the problem I see with him in this deck is he is your only creature ... Therefore the only creature to be targeted by the opponents kill spells... Red's burn / mardu/dark jeskai crackling doom, blacks kill spells, etc... If he isn't in the deck all of those cards are just dead which is good for you.(less to make discard or to counter)

This was my initial though as well but it was crazy I play tested so many different types of decks and got him to his ultimate a very good percentage of the time and win the game with the emblem. I did realize to play him only if I could flip him the following turn or he would die by the removal or burn spells but once he's a Planeswalker it was a little harder for an opponent to remove him. So that plus the added win con is why I am giving him a shot.

Jace is a removal magnet whether or not he is the only creature on the field. You did well in adding him to the deck :)
November 25, 2015 5:37 p.m.
Okay... Well like you said you realized to play him only when you can flip him "immediately"

Oh yea Jace definitely got a bullseye on him because he's such a beast

I feel like at least one Dig Through Time should be in here even though I know it's not "drawing" cards which is important. Great for getting your combo pieces. Otherwise looks pretty solid! Good luck!

I disagree with dig he has read the bones and anticipate and jace... AND treasure cruise..
November 27, 2015 11:33 a.m.
I did play test with dig but I found I didn't have the delve power I needed for that and treasure cruise given that cruise can end a game for me. And that Jace needs five in the graveyard to transform. Anticipate I like cause I can use it early to get my win cons Sphinx's or Jace

+1 from me. See what you think about mine Mill Your Grill. I played FNM with it last night and went 1-1-1 in the first two rounds, lost the 3rd round to a complete 4 color control deck and lost the last round to a red aggro deck. For some reason in the last 2 rounds with the aggro deck I had mana problems even with 25 damn lands in my deck.

Sixftrabbit I like it and gave you an up vote. It's weird you got mana screwed but sometimes it just happens lol definitely think you good on mana though. Dark Deal I would drop maybe just one because well at least when I play tested it could close out a game for sure but a lot of times was not a good play or just a dead card maybe throw in another treasure cruise for it. Keep on millin brotha

How do you feel about replacing Anticipate with Taigam's Scheming?
December 1, 2015 2 a.m.
I had actually considered that at one point the reason I kept Anticipate was for the instant speed so I can leave mana open for my control. I also like that it puts a card in my hand. Taigam's Scheming would be nice to set up future draws but in the end Anticipate won out.

I was thinking about using Dark Petition instead of Treasure Cruise because in my play testing, sometimes I might have only 1 Sphinx's Tutelage out in the first like 8 rounds. They are stuck at the bottom or something lol.
December 1, 2015 1:13 p.m.
Lol yea I hate it when that happens. I like Dark Petition not only to get Sphinx but if you need a board wipe or something you can get that to. Plus given the deck the spell mastery would almost always hit. I wouldn't replace Treasure Cruise though that card is a monster and I almost always play it for one mana

I run an esper version of this deck so that I can rebound my board wipes or draws, and I must say I love Negate in this deck. Creatures die sooner or later no matter what with as many kills as you are running. How has Horribly Awry worked for you considering how many kills you are running? Perhaps Scatter to the Winds would be better so you can answer more noncreature threats?
December 2, 2015 5:02 p.m.
Yea in my local meta right now it is very creature heavy so it's worked well so far. That being said there are some powerful control players as well so I put Scatter to the Winds Dispel and Neutralizing Blast in my side board. Negate in this deck has been an absolute all star. It's funny I have actually begun considering a esper deck here probably just a splash though as I really only want Utter End and that Planeswalker whose name I can't remember at the moment lol
December 3, 2015 1:21 a.m.
Narset Transcendent? I use her to rebound kills and draws, it's not as effective as mace perhaps, but a heck of a lot cheaper for the card. It's worked well for me so far.
December 3, 2015 4:10 a.m.
It's funny that I was thinking of going esper like two days ago then you mention it..... Time to play test some shit lol
December 3, 2015 5:03 a.m.
I splashed white solely for Narset Transcendent and Roil Spout. There are a lot of great white cards out there but I found that too much white just confused the balance that b/u naturally has as far as removal and draw is concerned. I don't have jace though, so narset largely is there to fill the role that Jace already is for your deck.

Mtgangsta, Zypher13 you know what's funny is when I first found out about Sphinx's Tutelage I tried to build a "lockdown" deck using Narset Transcendent and Dragonlord Kolaghan.. it did not work at all lol. I still want to use the Dragonlord at one point though when I mill.

Mtgangsta what do you think about this one? Redder Mill

Yea jace would be a monster in this deck on so many levels lol. I left him out originally because everyone said "he has to be in my deck" and I wanted to prove them wrong lol. Given now that this deck is now a powerhouse without him I may figure a way to get him in just to give it even more of a fuck you to my opponent. I like Dark Deal I actually had it in the beginning stages of this deck. I'm gonna play test with it cause with the right combo it's definitely a closer
