@qqqqqqthats6qsNo worries at all about the wall of text, I mean look at my deck description! :D I should likely add that I'm very new to magic and have so far only played with friends. Not sure if I'll go to events, but I figured making a deck modern-legal would be a nice step if I decided to. Therefore, the budget is really 'budget', not 'tournament budget' for now. 30 euros max. (This feels like calling a helpdesk about a pentium III computer now!)
I had considered dual-lands, the Faerie Conclave looks like a very nice (and cheap!) addition too! Seachrome Coast costs 2,50 a piece at least. I consider the value of dual-mana lands but currently having 4 of them sucks up a third of my budget.
More removal is indeed something I sought after. Removing Jotun seems logical (it was on the 'can be replaced' list very often anyway). Detention Sphere is a card I almost put in, but Banishing light is what I have lying around currently though saves me a bit of effort. Path to Exile is really strong but are again too expensive, at least 3,50 a piece.
The Mimeomancer and Medomai are kinda what the deck is built around, it feels weird to get rid of them. All your points are completely valid, and the stuttersprite faerie is really useful, but the restoration angel is currently too expensive, so medomai (which should be a bit faster with Warden of Evos Isle), will probably have to stay. Mimeomancer... I'll have to mentally prepare.
Your input on the sideboard is stellar, thanks for all the card suggestions.
I'm promptly going on vacation, but afterwards I'll make some edits to the deck! Thanks a lot!

Nice idea, making all of the 1/1 flyers you can pump out with Pride into 3/1 threats with Mimeomancer.
I would consider dropping some of the Bident's for Curiosity , if you draw two or more bidents they're effectively dead cards in your hand with them being legendary.

would put in steel of the godhead =D +1 very nice deck

Steel of the Godhead looks nice, but isn't useful in this deck. The unblockable is a bit unnecessary because the creatures have good evasion already from flying. Lifelink only works well once the creatures have ramped up already, otherwise you get little hp in return. it can be a +2/+2 on the right targets, but in other cases it's just going to be +1/+1 for a single creature which doesn't ramp hard or fast enough.

maybe sky hussar would help a little bit with draws and, i don't think restoration angel would be useful in this deck =S

Sky Hussar looks nice, though a bit high up the mana curve. I suppose you'd have it instead of Thistledown Liege ?
August 26, 2014 11:15 a.m.
sky hussar sounds better to me than thistledown liege, not in board presence but in severe card advantage that he'll give

maybe a little splash to B to use lingering souls, the tokens woud be nice with the cat one and combo with the mimeomancer

I think the Sky Hussar is a great suggestion after trying it out, curiosity does the same job since flying has enough evasion usually, but this card is alongside an independently good card for board control. I'm a bit disappointed to lose a +1.5/+1.5 on average though for the extra ramp it gives (it's rare to draw more than 2 ramp cards in the turns that you attempt to kill someone, having a bit more than 4 is nice)
I'm putting it in the sideboard for now, possibly to use with Hidden Strings.
Splashing into B seems like a bit too much effort. I'd need dual lands (currently the non-tapped ones are too expensive and the tapped ones are too slow) and/or put in some evolving wilds, and there are plenty of targets for mimeomancer already, either on the opponent's side of the board, or your own 0/1 or 1/1 creatures. Adding 4 1/1 tokens per card would require too many turns to really put to use, even though it combos pretty well with Pride of the Clouds and Favorable Winds. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I made an esper tokens and playtested it, iit works very wellhttp://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/the-sex-is-on-fire/

you should put it between square brackets like so: The sex is on fire!, that helps a lot :)
I'll check it out as soon as I can!

+1, I like it.
Though not a flyer, would you consider Deft Duelist ? She's cheap, and well, a great defender/offensive card. The shroud and first strike really help. I mainly mention her because she is budget, Modern, and in your colours. Might take some of the pressure off your flyers!
Anyway, best of luck!

Hmm... Also Rune Snag might be worth it if you're running four leaks. Like, instead of the leaks I mean. If you plan to keep them main boarded most the time.
Draw is also nice, would you consider a couple Serum Visions ? They might be out of budget. I do however really like Halimar Depths as a one or two of. Might help slightly with setting your deck up for better draws.
So happy to see Hindering Light . I really think this card is underrated. It's like a Remand and sure, it doesn't hard counter anything, but when it counters what you want it to, the added draw is amazing.

Thanks a lot for your replies!
Deft Duelist looks like fun, but the shroud makes it impossible to mimeomance, sadly :( I would consider having a few more non-flyers to make more use of the 'give flying' aspect though, and deck certainty against green removal. It started off as a little bit of bird tribal (eventually turned into H5N1 - Budget Bird Flu) so it's all open for suggestion.
Rune Snag looks pretty good. I found out I was often using my mana for casting creatures instead, leaving me with no mana eventually to counter spells. Therefore, I'm considering to cut 2 or maybe even all mana leaks, which would break even with runesnag. If I need the removal though, I'll be sure to swap it out!
Serum Visions is out of my budget. I can run more curiosity though as my flyers usually give enough evasion to deal combat damage. Halimar depths is a nice card, I'll consider using it instead of faerie conclave, again due to mana allocation issues.
Hindering Light is one of my favourite cheap azorius cards. Most of the harmful spells are going to be removal for my flyers, I can usually chump-block / evade the rest. Having a card draw with it makes it indeed very likeable! nice to see someone think similar!
Thanks for the response, I'm going to try to make this a bit more unique. If you have any ideas for non-flyers to mimeomance, I'd love to hear it :)

Loving the Epochrasite . Nifty with AEther Vial too. Hmm... Well, I don't like this card so much, but Geist of Saint Traft as a flyer would be potent.
Ornithopter would be fun!

Geist and AEther Vial are currently around half the current deck's total value per card. I just added the latter to the maybeboard if someone wanted to invest a lot of time/money into making this a bit better (there's so few big creatures to AEther atm anyway). I'll add Geist as it kind of has the same explanation.
Ornithopter would be fun, but I think the current cards are better, or could you give me a suggestion where you would fit it in?

Cool idea, with interesting mechanics! :)
Augury Owl may help, it kinda looks weak, but it's really steroids to make a combo/control-ish mix deck run smoother.
Maybe take out some Cloudfin Raptor (not very good late game, no time to evolve), Epochrasite (seems just a bit forced, doesn't do you much good when it's late game, combo with Paradox Haze isn't going to happen very often) or Curiosity (this card always get's removed and thus 2 for 1ed)?

For advice: First, the lands. While you do need to play basics in modern, this is a format with nearly free mana bases, so at least 4 hallowed fountains (although you are doing budget, so seachrome coast can do a fairly good impersonation) and,2 or 3 faerie conclave, as it provides a way to recover after sweepers, and it dodges decay, the second most common removal spell (behind lightning bolt, but that can not be dodged).
Second, your deck is really relying on the mana leaks to protect itself from your opponent doing something powerful (pod, affinity etc). 3-4 path to exiles would help to prevent a multitude of things, and at the small cost of giving an opponent a basic, and taking out the Jotun Owl Keepers, as they are very mana intensive, or the opponent just kills it, and all that you accomplished was playing a 3 mana 3/3. Banishing light is not a bad card, but it is outclassed by detention sphere (there are a few scenarios where the light is better, but in the vast majority of games sphere is better)
Third, Aven Mimeomancer and Medomai the Ageless. The aven just dies to bolt, path, decay, pact, doomblade, darkblast, burst lightning, flameslash, and nearly every other removal spell in the format, but what benefit does he give? He is a 3 man 3/1 flier that makes some other dudes 3/1 fliers... slowly. Also, Medomai is a 6 mana hasteless flier. By the time that you could hit an opponent with it to take some extra turns, you probably have already won the game. So, in the 6 spots they leave, I would suggest ( assuming that by budget, you mean a reasonable budget) 4 Spellstutter Sprite and 2 Restoration Angel. The ssses are fliers that can counter relevant spells, and the restos save your guys and provide a reasonable clock.
Finally, the sideboard... Honestly, nothing in the board is good enough for modern. I would start with 4 negates. Against control, they stop their big finishers, against tron, it stops a turn three Karn. Then, 4 Rest in Peace. It is such a power effect that it can stop entire decks, not much more explanation is needed. 2 Celestial Purge, it can be a 2 mana, better, vindicate, but only in certain match ups. 2 disenchant, it can, if used properly, stop an affinity deck for enough time for you to kill them your fliers, plus, it blows up pod and twin. 3 Dismember, it can kill most things in the meta dead, and not much more needs to be said.
I hope that this helps, and I apologize for the wall of text, but it is necessary to explain each change.
