Adding a set of card:Jace's Archivist and card:Jace's Erasure can be very fast.

Ever thought of using Glimpse the Unthinkable and/or Memory Erosion ? Glimpse can mill 3 more cards than Mind Sculpt and 8 more than Thought Scour , although Scour provides you with that nice extra card. Only downside to Glimpse is its dual color cost which can hinder its speed.

Memory Erosion though is a nice card to have out as it acts as a deterrent for playing cards, keeping your opponent playing a bit more defensively. It's even better if you have 2 or more out at the same time.

Glimpse and Memory Erosion aren't Standard legal cards.

@TwelveEyes

Hopefully there is a Glimpse the Unthinkable reprint on the horizon :-)

I'd suggest 4 Snapcaster Mage , because playing 4 extra of all your spells is awesome... Snapmaster Cage is really good, I hate it

Nice! Great deck! But I would make 1 slight change... If it were me I would take out 4x Mana Leak and replace it with 4x Negate .. Because I wouldn't want to give my opponent the option of paying 3 mana to counter mana leak... Also if I knew you had that in our deck and I was facing you... Then I would always make sure at lest 3 mana is untapped... Another thing is you have Dissipate for countering creature spells.... But other then deck you shouldnt change a thing!

@Human_Rogue_21

I'm replacing the Mana Leak with Negate soon after rotation. Thanks for the comment!

No prob and that's a great idea!

The thing about Mana Leak , although it can be countered with paying the extra 3, that does require them to a) wait until you play something and tap all your mana, or b) you make them wait an extra 3 turns (if they get all their mana each turn) to play what they want

Looks great!

@strateupjee

Mana Leak is definitely a card that you can have a complication with.. Because not all big or important cards have a high mana cost.... So you might be left with a situation were you need to use Mana Leak when the opponent has untapped mana just because the spell is too important to have it used or in play... But I see what you mean...

strateupjee says... #14

Yeah and no matter what, nothing says you are gonna draw another counter anyway, all I know is I have been in the situation where they are casting things and having enough mana to pay for mana leak to let it go through and its a sad feeling haha, thats why in my control deck (Sucks for you!) I run 4 of both dissipate and mana leak, and I rarely ever use a dissipate before turn 5 or 6 unless its a special circumstance.

CrimsonKing says... #15

I say let them tap the mana because they can't use it that turn and I'm going to use a Devastation Tide anyways :-)

I highly suggest you to put in card:Jace's Phantasm after ponder rotates out. You get one of those and your opponent is dead within four turns assuming they have 10 cards which they will pretty much always have due to mind sculpt and thought scour. Use counterspells to counter threats. just my opinion cause milling the opponent's deck is just too slow for me. And some people use elixir of immoratality

@w999

Yeah I probably should do that, depends on Ravinca. As for the elixirs, I really haven't had a whole lot of problems with it because of card:Tormod's Crypt and counterspells.

Otherworld atlas and reliquary tower might be fun. More draw power and you can build up charge counters and wlmake them draw out.

Seriously man? There's no Dream Twist in here? You need four copy of those! Drop the 4x Ponder and replace it with Dream Twist You might also want to add Increasing Confusion or two. It really mills a lot specially when casted by flashback.

Dream Twist is a pretty good idea thanks! I really need the Devastation Tide though...it has saved me so many times.

@FridayWing

I agree with you on Dream Twist especially with rotation not too far off. Pretty sure user:CrimsonKing69 built this to kill with mill, with card:Jace's Phantasm as an alternate win condition in the SB.

Lastly, I think Sands of Delirium and Increasing Confusion are the interchangeable cards. A well-timed Devastation Tide could turn a normally bad match against aggro/tokens into a winnable game.

@emrakool

Especially when I use Think Twice on their turn and use Devastation Tide ! Using mill as an aggressive strategy works on paper but in reality it doesn't. Having a good defense will always benefit me in the end.
