What's with Raka Disciple ? Some sources say he counts as minotaur. So he would be a nice one drop.

Too bad he is not Standard legal.

Maybe consider Hero's Downfall instead of Dreadbore ? Even though it comes out one turn later, I feel like the instant-speed more than makes up for it. Especially when you're dealing with guys like Stormbreath Dragon and Mistcutter Hydra .

Otherwise, this looks awesome. I'm so glad there's finally a powerful tribe back in standard. +1

@BearTornado

Thanks for the advice and that +1! Hero's Downfall will surely get in after Dreadbore rotates since I'm pretty much clogged on the 3cmc spot already, the reason I chose Dreadbore over since it only costs 2.

if a Ragemonger is on the board you can cast Dreadbore for free!! I'd still keep a hero's downfall in because of instant.

@ Chitown_Sorcerer

That won't work. Ragemonger only reduces the spell cost of Minotaur spells and Dreadbore is sadly not.

Apparently i got so excited about Ragemonger i could no longer comprehend what i was reading on Dreadbore . Thank you!

Maybe I should add some Gnarled Scarhide to my deck. Here is my take on the Minotaurs Minotaurs! Minotaurs! Minotaurs!

How come you reverted almost all of your deck back to pre-JOU?

May 31, 2014 4:18 a.m.

@Riktasi

I joined last weekend's Tournament using the JOU updated list, but it didn't do good enough. I switched back to pre-JOU and see if it could do better.

Ran a minotaur build prior to rotation. Ran Door of Destinies , but that has now rotated out. Can Obelisk of Urd be a thing here? Im thinking about adding it.

@nnolin

Probably as a 2-of, although I myself haven't tried it out yet. My friends running Minotaurs have them.

I have a very similar deck Minotaur Tribal-Khans take a look and tell me what I am missing. Thanks. I like the Thoughtseize + Titan's Strength ideas.

@Redbullrebel00

Thanks!! I'll be looking at your horde as well.

Oh wow, you're still at it. I gave up on minotaurs with rotation. Although, I really do think Whip of Erebos and Twinflame would do well in this deck. Both could potentially let you attack all-out into a stalled boardstate (like vs. Hornet Queen) without fear of losing your lords completely.

@Riktasi

Thanks!!

I'm actually considering those cards, most probably as a sideboard, although the whip could go to main and replace Mogis.

I was also thinking maybe Coordinated Assault instead of those Rouse the Mob and maybe Fall of the Hammer in the side for some deathtouch shenanigans. Shaman already gives trample, and the strive is expensive on that spell. Coordinated Assault could also make Deathbellow's forced attack be productive against a 3/3 blocker like Mantis Rider or Fleecemane.

November 19, 2014 4:59 p.m.

@Riktasi

I was actually thinking the same about Coordinated Assault since because of Felhide Petrifier it will be cow surprise of First Strike and Deathtouch.

Thoughtseize and and despize are an idea low costing cards and removal from hand is a good idea

November 20, 2014 12:56 p.m.

@Redbullrebel00

Yes. They are actually possible in main, although you may have to remove the boost spells to make room for it.

@KamikazeTurtle

Whip of Erebos could be considered (in replacement of Mogis) but it's a big no for Warchanter of Mogis because of its cmc. Kragma Warcaller is better on that spot and it could be reduced to 3 with Ragemonger out.
