First FNM. Went 0 and 4! I won 1 of the 9 games that I played.
Played Esper Control, Boros Burn, MDB and MDB splash white for the Baron and Ghost dad.
I made a lot of misplays with the Eper game. I almost won game 2 after sideboarding in all my skullcracks, needles, and slaughtergames. I got him down to 2, but didn't have the spells I needed to finish the job. He extorted me over and over, but ultimately Aetherling finished me off. I pithing needled his Jace, and next turn he dropped aetherling. After pulling a land, I scooped.
Boros Burn. This was a fun match. He was running Reckoner, the Pheonix, and some Cacklers. I was winning game one. I had 6 life, he had 2 with no board presence, and then he skullcrack and lightning strike for lethal. Game two I curved very nicely, and won with a Hammer of Purphoros and Whip of Erebos and reanimated Fanatic of Mogis
MBD splash white. Essentially lost to Desecration Demon and Pack Rat both times. Game one, we were exchanging quite a bit. I ultimate priced his demon, only to have him drop another. Game two he got mana screwed, but kept thoughtseizing me. Ultimately brought in another Demon, which I didnt have an answer for because he had taken it.
MBD lost game one to overwhelming pack rats. I actually did lethal damage, but he devour fleshed one of his rats for 5 health, and killed me his turn. Game 2, he thoughtseized me quite a bit, and I had only big creatures with little mana on board. I stayed alive for awhile, duressing him and using all my burn spells. He won with double mutavault and a Demon.
What I've learned most is that I need a better draw engine, and more scry. I'm def going to buy the scry lands for B/R. I think I need some Underworld Connections and Magma Jet
