Sideboard

This is the minotaur deck I've been running since Born of the Gods. The concept is pretty simple to understand, with different minotaurs giving abilities to other minotaurs and vice versa.

The end result is that a group of 2/3 creatures turn into a horde of 5/4 creatures with haste, deathtouch and trample. The latter two being the most important combo as a creature with deathtouch and trample only needs to do one point of damage to a blocker for it to be lethal, allowing the rest to go through.

In addition to the minotaur tribal abilities, enchantments such as Whip of Erebos and Berserkers' Onslaught add lifelink and double strike into the mix.

One of the biggest killer combos in the deck is Oracle of Bones + Worst Fears which can (and has) resulted in win conditions on turn four.

The rest of the deck is fleshed out with some removal spells, as well as a few copies of Outpost Siege to really ramp things up,

Another great night for the horde! Placed 6th again, even going 2-0 against one of my FLGS' better players. My game was saved thanks to siding in Chandra's Fury against an elf deck and Whip of Erebos keeping me from being finished off when brought down to one point.

Also, I not only managed to pull off the Oracle of Bones + Worst Fears combo on one opponent, I was able to hard-cast Worst Fears on my final opponent twice in order to get the win (he was so mana-screwed that the best I could do was make sure he stayed at a disadvantage while my single Gnarled Scarhide attacked).

It's gonna suck when September rolls around and this deck is no longer Standard. But as an experiment in building a deck around a given theme, it's been a lot of fun and a great learning experience.
