Have you playtested with Pia and Kiran Nalaar ?

I have, but the deck is heavy on blue, and four drops. I had them in the original draft of the deck, but I often found that they would stick in my hand due to lacking red mana. I also often had the choice to cast them or Whirler Rogue, and because of the nature of this deck, Whirler Rogue is just a better card.

Cranial Archive is meant to help against the Turbo Fog decks popping up around my LGS. It can help prevent myself from getting milled before I can deal the killing blows with Impact Tremors. It also acts like a Tormod's Crypt against certain decks if I need to slow down their graveyard strategy.

Rogue's Passage might be very good; if you can fit it in and keep a good mana base that is. It let's you not have to Mirror Mockery only Whirler Rogues

Mirror Mockery isn't just used on Whirler Rogues. I use it on Chief of the Foundry as well in order to buff the team, and I use it on opposing creatures if the moment is right. I honestly have never had the problem of not having a target for Mirror Mockery, as it typically always has a suitable target.

I could see a use for Rogue's Passage but since I already have several lands that don't produce colored mana, I don't want to run the risk of making my mana base less stable than it already is.

Thank you for your suggestion.

Definitely an interesting take on the increasingly popular Thopter deck...Thopters and Monored are the primary reasons I run Anger of the Gods. What are you answers for that card? I see the 4 Negate in the SB so that will definitely help. +1. I'm loving the use of Mirror Mockery!

Honestly...I'm not too worried about spells that sweep the table. I used to have Outpost Siege in the sideboard, but found I never really needed it. If I have a Mirrored Rogue on the battlefield with Impact Tremors and such, I can hold back playing any further copies if I feel my opponent is holding a sweeper. After turn 4, if they are forced to play an Anger of the Gods instead of something bigger and meaner, I'm all for it.

Whats your plan for languish or any other board wipe?

September 1, 2015 5:17 p.m.

Kalibroxin says... #12

As mentioned in the comments prior to reset, board wipes don't really bother me too much. A lot of times I'll find myself holding creatures in my hand for such a situation, and I can easily rebuild after a sweeper. Thopter Spy Network is also fantastic for this. After sideboard it gets a little easier, as I have a full playset of Negates.

This is a very nice deck. I've made a few changes to fit my play style a bit more, and I've cited you. Sigil of Mockery. Have a look and let me know what you think. The main change is removing Impact Tremors for Sigil of Valor and then working from that combo.

I was JUST working on a list like this. Seems really potent! Bringing in the damage from all angles. Have you considered splashing black? Some cards seems really good in black for a deck like this. Mostly just Zulaport Cutthroat and maybe even Bone Splinters since you have so many creatures to kill. Oh yeah, Vampiric Rites could come in handy too maybe?

Also, Descent of the Dragons comes to mind when I see a lot of little guys. And getting more triggers off of your enchantments seems like a good finisher. 24 lands should be able to accommodate it as well.

I am currently building this. I love it. However I am taking out the Skyspawners and am trying out 2x Pia and Kiran Naalar and 2x Hangarback Walkers. Also taking out 1 Spy Network and 1 Alchemist Vial and replaceing them with 2x Flameshadow Conjuring. But this deck is cool

Wanna give my 2 cents on this type of deck. It is a really fun deck.

My beef with it is the lack of earlier threats. I know this is budget so Hangarback Walker is out of the picture. In my experience 2-4 Endless One has been great on a budget. It's not exactly what your looking for but a good filler. It's flexibility is something I wasn't sure would work. It has been more than I expected.

Combo it with Ghostfire Blade at 3x instead of Alchemist's Vial and you have an alternative threat to Mirror Mockery/Impact Tremors. Blade is considerable hitting for good damage with so many flyers. Blade also stays around more than Vial because it's not sacrificed like Vial. In the long run potential to utilize Thopter Spy Network with more consistency. (plus slapping Blade on a little token).

I am dumping herald for Angel's Tomb I think the 3/3 colorless RECURRING creature with the help of thoptor spy network will play nicely with impact.

Thanks for the deck notes as I found them helpful to creating my Jeskai version of this, Insect Tremors. As a thopter veteran, if you have any ideas on it's improvement, let me know. Thanks again!

First off great deck I have no suggestions but to answer your question on how to use Mirror Mockery in a different way could be equip it to Faerie Miscreant. I like this idea since Faerie Miscreant is a 1 drop, has flying, and will allow you to use its ETB to draw an additional card each turn, on top of that you add Artificer's Epiphany to it, your drawing a lot of cards for low mana cost. Not saying use it for this deck but it is a fun idea thought I'd share to give you ideas.

Also could use Mirror Mockery on Thought-Knot Seer or Reflector Mage. Safe to say that'd piss people off.
