Grixis is by far my favorite color combination, and Wizards is probably my favorite creature type after Shapeshifter. I think they sum up everything Magic is all about, and are not just powerful, but powerful in tricky, sometimes overwhelmingly complicated ways, which is so much more rewarding than winning with simple brute force (what am I, a green player?). So, Inalla, Archmage Ritualist seemed like a good fit.

It took me a while to learn exactly how to use (abuse) the Wizard-copying ability, and now that I have wrapped my head around it, I've come to realize this might just be the most powerful Commander deck I have. I'm usually a pretty casual player, but Inalla is capable of more game-breaking combos than I realized when I first started looking into the usual builds she goes into. On that subject, I've eschewed a couple of the usual Inalla combos, namely the Wanderwine Prophets one. I've deliberately tried to keep the power level of the deck a little below its full potential, while still being above average strength. I am still a casual player at heart, and I (and my usual playgroup) prefer to play for fun more than anything else.

So, this is my take on a slightly underpowered Inalla deck. Grixis Wizards, and copies of those Wizards, and sometimes copies of those copies, and sometimes copies of copies of copies of copies of copies of copies...

Mise en abîme.
