I think you're missing something. With Nether Void and Guile in play or if I use Praetor's Grasp etc... I go and steal your artifact that I want, cast it, then Mishra triggers and I go get my own so I can have 2 of the same card. Plus there is just a lot of interactions with like Future Sight + Psychosis Crawler + Sensei's Divining Top and I'm thinking about adding in an infinite mana combo and Memnarch

Also with Nether Void and Guile if I keep taking over your turns with Mindslaver + Prototype Portal I cast your artifacts for you, let them get countered, then cast them on my turn etc.

Dude, with that curve you need at least 5-6 more lands, even with the ramp. Also remove Cancel for a better counterspell. : )

I never run over 33 land in an edh deck, and all my decks perform admirably, even when hard casting Eldrazi. So i will worry about the cmc issues after getting the rest of the deck. I still am missing abiut half the deck and several key cards

Also with all the rocks, infinite mana possibility, and rocks that just make spells cheaper.... I think 30 is plenty

Mishra's Helix wants to be in this deck. Also as i understand it using Hinder on one of your own artifact spells will allow you to search it out of your deck so it is un counterable?
August 20, 2014 2:03 a.m.
This is fairly true, yes, Hinder does allow me to do that. But usually speaking I save it for when someone casts a scary commander like Sen Triplets or Thromok the Insatiable .
Mishra's Helix ... I really really want to like the card but its SOOO rough as a 5cmc artifact to get behind it. Though I suppose if I have Unwinding Clock in play with my infinite mana combo, no one ever gets to play more than an instant speed spell during their upkeep. That's worth it right?
August 20, 2014 2:11 a.m.
I must say I almost feel like running counter spells in this deck is almost useless though.

In that case, just keep the extremely useful ones, which are probably Hinder , Counterspell , and Cryptic Command (cause that can do other things as well).
If you're not getting what you need when you need it, you're not running enough tutors and/or card drawing. For tutors I see Demonic Tutor , Praetor's Grasp , and Trinket Mage . You could run stuff like Tezzeret the Seeker or Fabricate to find specific artifacts (yes, I know they're blue, but blue is good at finding artifacts). Of course, black covers most of the tutor department with stuff like Vampiric Tutor , Beseech the Queen , Diabolic Tutor , Imperial Seal , etc.
Red can do some janky things with artifacts. The best is probably Possibility Storm , which will net you 2 artifacts when combo'd with Mishra and some type of countering thing. Goblin Welder is good too.
Also you could play some good, reuseable artifact creatures, like Solemn Simulacrum , Phyrexian Metamorph , and Baleful Strix .
Here's my deck if you want to see some other, non-blue useful stuff: Jank Commanders: Mishra

I will definitely be adding in Goblin Welder and Solemn Simulacrum . I don't know how I missed those. I also have two blue artifact retrieval cards at home I need to add in place of a few cards. Possibility Storm may be a card I add in but I'm still on the fence since it may be getting banned in my play group. We shall see.

Look at the unified theory of commander: mana it will change your perspective of land

Because you only have a 53% chance of having four mana by turn four
October 9, 2014 12:10 p.m.
Well ive been playing this deck for a while now and i have little to no mana issues unless im trying to dump a huge combo onto the table all at once.
I dont know where you are getting your numbers but personally im perfectly happy with 1 in every 3 cards i touch being a land while consistantly starting with a 4-5 mana hand

I would really read unified theory of commander and usually people only remember when their deck does good and not when it does badread the article and you will see what I'm talking about
October 9, 2014 4:53 p.m.
A. Its polite to link any article's you are referencing if you expect someone to read the article and
B. I've been play testing all of my EDH decks for my local EDH League, so I know what my deck can and can't do. Its rather presumptuous to assume what I recall and don't recall.
C. If you don't have any constructive criticisms for the deck I kindly ask you to refrain from erroneous posts.

http://brainstormbrewery.com/unified-theory-of-commander-mana/and the calculator is linked in the article which shows the statistics of drawing the land

So your argument is with 33 lands, which is 1/3 of the deck, and only 3 of which are guaranteed to enter tapped and a total of 10 spells that either ramp or fix my mana, which is 1/10 of the deck... I'm not running enough resources...
And lets not include my ways of cheating out spells in the deck... And the deck is mostly comprised of 4cmc or less cards...
I'm not running enough resources... I think your logic is slightly askew. I understand that some, or maybe even most decks enjoy running more than 33 lands. But I don't. That is how you get flooded and I would rather get the screw than get a flood.
Hell, just the fact that they unbanned Metalworker pretty much just fixed my whole deck. I can turn 3 a Blightsteel Colossus . Mana is of no consequence to me good sir. If I get to 4-6 mana, I'm doing just fine.

except getting to that 4-6 mana is the problem and don't count mana rocks as real mana they can be interacted with way more easily than lands. lands are the most important thing in an edh deck and you need 4 mana on turn 4, not counting mana rocks and statistically you will get that 53% of the time, that is not a great percentage. so if you like gambling then by all means play 33 lands i would rather have a better chance of getting to the mana i need in the time i need it
October 10, 2014 12:55 a.m.
its not a gamble when actually PLAYING the deck has shown that I consistently drop a land every turn until about turn 6 then it changes to every other turn.
Fact of the matter is, if the pilot chooses to keep a hand with low resources in it, that is the players mistake.
And I don't particularly care what some EDH guru thinks, playing more than 1/3 of your deck as mana is a mistake UNLESS you're a control build that requires playing a spell and leaving mana open. Which my deck does not do obviously.
Also, if you notice, I'm not talking about mana rocks, as I only have 3 or 4. Most people are not going to blow up Blood Funnel or Helm of Awakening , even after knowing what they do in my deck. Why would you when it helps every player?
Instead of making broad generalizations you should take the specific deck into consideration. THIS deck does not need very many resources to perform well.

all i have to say is math doesn't lie and you can take it or leave but you take the repercussions on your own head
October 10, 2014 1:08 a.m.
Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas is a powerful card in artifact heavy decks and would be a good replacement for the blue beater.
October 22, 2014 12:40 a.m.
Actually I forgot to delete that update. I forgot why I had him in the deck, turns out when I have Nether Void or Blood Funnel , Guile allows me to counter things other than artifacts and recast them. Which can be useful I suppose.
October 22, 2014 1 a.m.
I'd suggest Kill Switch. It combos with Unwinding Clock + Mycosynth Lattice to shut out everyone else on command.

I'm just confused as to why Mishra, really. In a singletons deck, he just seems a bit useless, unless I'm missing something?
