swapping out relic warders would be a bad move for me, my meta's top decks almost all have artifact or enchantment reliant strategies and if I could find room I'd rather throw in more creatures than less. As for my sb I'll admit alot of the slots are not set in stone. Right now the current problem decks for me are my fellow white and/or blue aggro decks, I was thinking of adding Paraselene to deal with token deck's 8 anthems and o rings and maybe Faith's Shield to act like Brave the Elements did for knights back then. Vapor Snag might still be a good option, Corrosive Gale hasn't really helped me out at all (my meta's not delver spirit full) and maybe I only need 2 cages.

Yeah I guess it depends on your meta. It just seems like a 1 of vapor snag doesn't get you very far.

it used to be a Silent Departure until I added cages and I've found that 1 usually does the job in helping relic warders and hunters keep my tempo up (although delver decks and token decks are still annoying) and every time I play it they seem to think my deck has 4 of them.(even though I've been playing the same deck for months...)

Fair enough.Do you find the Leonin Arbiter necessary if you have access to 3 cages?

He's there more as a ramp interupter for wolf run ramp, but he does make it extra hard for pod to deal with.

I have a deck that uses angelic overseer as a win condition and it works nicely. Check out my Divine Darkness deck.

If this deck is supposed to be about Angelic Overseer why is there only 1?
April 18, 2012 6:32 p.m.
take out venseer. planeswalkers are cool and all, but a waste of time if you want to be comptetitive imo. and maybe another angelic destiny..and with your swords, if your not running more than 2, take them out and sub in other swords that are cheaper. mirran crusader is awesome, but hes deff a side deck kinda guy for that one guy who is playing them colors. and nevermind with batterskull.

yeah she's reduced down to that many after months of playtesting, besides it's rare for a creature based deck to have very many copies of the creatures on it's high end and I'm also currently testing out my other 5 drops (lifelink has been very relevent at my meta and venser's -1 ability and +2 ability with a Fiend Hunter seems to work very good at the stalemates I run into against decks that run Lingering Souls ) but this deck did start out with Angelic Overseer and more cards were built around her.

simply put. my vampire deck would have ran right through this on turn 4-5 easy.
April 18, 2012 6:39 p.m.
Yes I understand my 5 drop area is cluttered a bit with odd choices, but they are simply being tested atm. As for your vamp deck running through things I find pretty funny though.

you said you wanted sum playtest-feedback, so i decided to give this deck a spin against my ''Angelic Stalker'' deck (a Angelic Overseer deck)
at first it looks like you have an incredible advantage...
- i try to use cards from the innistrad block only, or atleast 90% so it will be rdy for rotation.
- i play with 4x Bonds of Faith and that is ofc not optimal vs a human deck.
game 1:
this was as even as it could be, i won cuz i drew a Temporal Mastery and my Vapor Snag was the last point of dmg i needed to finish you off, or i would have died.
game 2:
you didnt draw the best hand but i decided to go with it, cuz i allready made you mulligan to 6.
this game was just as my deck wants it, i got a beefy Invisible Stalker fast, and was able to swing for victory pretty fast.
game 3:
i did a mulligan and went to 6.
i had a very control based hand with Vapor Snag , Feeling of Dread and an Oblivion Ring
you had a Thalia, Guardian of Thraben and was able to stomp me pretty easy. It didnt help that you pulled an Angelic Destiny just as i had used my Oblivion Ring to try and slow you down.
game 4:
we both got mana screwed, and this game was all about lucky mana draw.
you play with 24 mana and i play with 22, so i guess its not just luck that you won this one.
...and you have more power on 1-2 drops.
game 5, the final:
this was a good even game,.. alot of trading cards gave you alot of 1/1 flying spirits from Moorland Haunt , and for a long time it looked like i was gonna lose.
but i got a Temporal Mastery the same turn i was able to equip my Butcher's Cleaver and the next turn i pulled a Feeling of Dread of the top of my deck, and i quickly turned the game around.
with the final score being 3/2, this was as even as it could be.
btw, none of the decks used their sideboard.
feel free to return the favor, and have a nice day.

just wonder why have 4 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben when you can only have one on the table at a time
April 27, 2012 12:52 p.m.
I've found her to be the most annoying 2 drop to most of my opponents, as such she aggro's alot of kill spells allowing my more important creatures kill my opponent in the late game. Also any turn my opponent is killing thalia is often a turn they're not ramping mana or putting down threats when they normally would have and since she dies often by my opponent's hands I don't often run into saying "Thalia why u no other card in my deck!?"
April 27, 2012 7:59 p.m.
Isn't that a fact for any tcg card? The Overseer was once a 3 of, but the meta kept wandering away from the need for her and the need for lifelink and unblockable increased, my deck could only hold so many 5 drops, besides the goal was to get her into a deck that won me tournaments and the goal was reached!

Oh, I take it this was the deck that made Fiendfyre feel chunky. I'd agree, this one has a number of creatures on par with the number of burn spells in mine- I can keep up but eventually the enchantments make em too big to burn. Not only that but it packs main deck artifact and enchantment removal, which takes away my 2 best win conditions. Congrats! This is the first deck to stump both my main deck and sideboard! +1 I have some thinking to do on my deck
May 4, 2012 6:49 p.m.
Yeah this is the deck I used while playtesting your Fiendfyre (though I did theorize how other decks would try to deal with yours while writing the comment) this deck has been my deck of choice for the greater percentage of the current standard. I believe I started using this deck after Kessig Wolf-Ramp became popular and it's seemed to stump my meta this whole time they even went as far as some of them having 10 cards in their sideboard for me... until they found themselves too weak to deal with the rest of the meta. As for sideboard suggestions for your deck, Combust and Surgical Extraction do pretty well (they're also very good against delver decks). Oh and thanks for the +1
...I may have gone on a few tangents throughout that paragraph... oh well.
May 4, 2012 7:18 p.m.
cutting Angelic Overseer to one, is for me not a way to make Angelic Overseer work competive,... it seem to me that you try not to draw it, and thats not the goal of the deck (if you look at the name)
i playtested you last time, that must be enough. Just thought i would share that thought.
May 14, 2012 4:09 p.m.
I would have to agree to some extent and if Zealous Conscripts become any more popular I may have to swap some stuff around for more of her, but for now my deck's still winning me packs and cash and my meta will still groan over the overseer when she drops... have I really been playing with this deck for 6 months?!

I feel like this deck falls face first into the ground up against the new U/W tap out control decks. Terminus, Devastating Tide, and Entreat the Angels are rough for this deck. Careful as the meta shifts, you will see these miracles coming soon enough.
May 17, 2012 8:50 p.m.
yeah I've been playtesting against some miracle control builds, they complain a lot when Thalia's out, but I will take your advice and do some more playtesting against the miracle deck (though my meta seems to be more into trading away the miracles atm)

If you want to fit in a pair of Silverblade Paladin I'd recommend taking out one Thalia, Guardian of Thraben and one Doomed Traveler .
Both are very good cards, but having more than one Thalia at a time is just a bad deal, and drawing a doomed traveler late game will never help you.
Hope that helps

This is not Mono white. Not saying this in a bad way but you might want to update your hubs.

I'd take out 2x Leonin Relic-Warder
for 2 more Vapor Snag
. Put some artifact hate in the SB, and not Steel Sabotage
, Divine Offering
or something.
