Much credit for the revamp of this deck goes to this awesome primer about how to not burn out after turn 5.

Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons teaches us that consuming small amounts of poison can actually make us stronger. It's called mithridatism.

Sound familiar?

This guy knows what I'm talking about.

Princess Bride iocane powder

I've played this a dozen times and I really enjoy bringing out Hapatra early to get some easy attacks in and start the snake army. However, she will be targeted. You will lose your initial army. That's okay. The worst is yet to come! I only kept the best -1/-1 counter producers so I don't top-deck junk. I also added in more ramp.

Only once was I able to pull off an Overwhelming Stampede . Those little snakes are more useful in other ways: clamp 'em with Skullclamp ; throw 'em with Ulvenwald Tracker ; sacrifice to Hell's Caretaker or Attrition ; mana dorkify via Cryptolith Rite .

The real wombo-combo is with Blowfly Infestation .

Do anything that lets you put a -1/-1 counter on a creature, chose one of your snakes, and generate a new snake with Hapatra. The first snake dies, you put the counter on the second snake, and go . Blood Artist , Falkenrath Noble or Zulaport Cutthroat make that an instant win. Tutor should pretty much only be used to assemble your combo pieces.
