Yes! Great board clear option to consider, thanks. I'll have to think about what to remove to make room - Cuts are getting pretty tough.

Also, what about Invoke the Firemind? Damage or card advantage on command, plus a free experience counter.

I had that spell in here before and found it pretty sub par due to the 3 mana casting cost requirement - Probably seems trivial but in Mizzix it's important. Unless it's a win-con such as Blue Sun's Zenith or Insurrection, I've opted to steer away from anything colour mana intensive.

Forkbeard I would greatly appreciate it if you would give me some feedback on my Mizzix deck. http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/mizzix-just-wants-to-watch-the-world-burn-2/

Really nice build and description, +1. Stifle could be good against certain commanders. Quicken another option to open up all your sorceries to instant speed. Looks fun! I know it's not a wizard but Thing in the Ice Flip wants you to play instants/sorceries and also can bounce the board. Just somethings to consider.

Thanks very much Jimmy_Chinchila, great ideas. I particularly like Quicken - I'm embarrassed to say that I don't think I've even seen that card before! Relevant tech + it cantrips, I dig it. Thing in the Ice Flip is hilarious and it would be real easy to flip here. Definitely up for consideration.

I'm not sure if you're looking for more card draw, but Mind Unbound could be used in place of some of those others.

Definitely a neat enchantment midget_overlord, but I want to keep that 6 mana back for spells instead.

Nice build Forkbeard. Have you thought about adding Sphinx-Bone Wand it does wonders for my Mizzix deck. Mizzix X Burn

Thanks for the deck props tkdman, appreciated. I had the wand in here when I first built the deck but ended up taking it out due to the casting cost. The effect is perfect for the build, I simply wish it didn't cost . I find that more often than not I need to keep that mana back to protect Miz or put it to use on an spell.
I'm going to check out your build!

I Read your introduction. Overload, kicker and buyback do not count as cmc. Those are additional costs. http://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/magic-fundamentals/magic-rulings/magic-rulings-archives/649047-how-mizzix-sees-spells-on-the-stack

You are correct sir! The additional costs don't count as converted mana cost, but Mizzix XP counters do go toward the total cost which may include Overload, Kicker, Buyback etc. For example, if I had Mizzix out with 4 XP counters, I could cast Capsize for with Buyback, however I would not gain an XP counter because the CMC is 3 (). Make sense? Was my description misleading?

Ok gotcha. I for some reason thought that your statement was saying he would gain a counter because of those costs

Only suggestions i have: AEtherize, Blustersquall, Counterflux, Psychic Spiral, Burn from Within, maybe a Hypersonic Dragon to cast sorceries at instant speed, and Spelltwine. By no means do you have to include them, but ive found most of of these help a lot in my Liar Liar Mind on Fire deck, especially the burn from within since it gets rid of those pesky indestructible cards (with hypersonic, even a gideon will die)

Is Guttersnipe too slow? Could Laboratory Maniac be good as a (pathetic) safe, possible win con?
I know Mizzix is best as an almost creatureless deck, but what do you think about Archaeomancer and Dualcaster Mage as well?
Lastly, what are your thoughts on Fact or Fiction? Fact and Archaeomancer is fun if you can keep Archaeomancer coming back. Fact or Fiction 7 or 8 times a game?
Anyway! Just food for thought. Nice deck!

Thanks freakingShane! I had both Guttersnipe & Dualcaster Mage in here at one point. I found that Guttersnipe just immediately ate removal (I suppose it could be argued that it's a cute little removal diversion away from Mizzix) and it was more advantageous to just run a fork spell instead of Dualcaster Mage. Laboratory Maniac is definitely effective (albeit pathetic, as you say haha), I just think it's a silly way to win - I'd rather just mill my opponents out instead. That said, I haven't ruled him out entirely, I just haven't felt compelled to add him yet.
Fact or Fiction is such a great card and I probably should be running it - I like the suggested Archaeomancer angle too. Good ideas, I'll need to think of possible cuts to try them out.

Glad I could help! If you find a place for the latter two, then awesome.
Making cuts is definitely not easy when you have a well-oiled machine, so the best of luck, and if you don't find anything to swap, it will still be a great deck, haha.

Now that they're out, I'd add the two Gearhulks, as well as Theromo-Alchemist
October 29, 2016 4:23 p.m.
I'm actually underwhelmed by the Gearhulks. Don't get me wrong, they're neat but they just don't quite make the cut - So costly for a mediocre effect. I find that the spells I already have in here + Snapcaster Mage are much more efficient. Likewise with Thermo-Alchemist. His effect is ok but he's pretty under powered.

Duuuuuuude. Deepglow Skate should be an auto include in Mizzix. Double your experience counters for 5 CMC? Sign me up.
October 29, 2016 4:58 p.m.
Now that's pretty sweet! Going straight to the maybeboard.

Since the skate doubles counters on permanents, do experience counters count, since they go on the player?
Ownagemaster says... #1
This would depend on your meta, but what about Chain Reaction? I have a fairly creature heavy meta, so it's a thing.
