You realise that Daretti, Scrap Savant is actually disabled, right?

I brewed up a more casual version of this deck. I'd like some feedback. :)

You can just multi kick Comet Storm to kill of all your opponents at once and you can use other x mana spells with Reiterate using theEnter the Infinite combo.

Have you considered a Boseiju, Who Shelters All as a way to keep your combo intact? And an Overmaster?

I really like Boseiju. I don't want to dish out the cash for it though. My meta isn't hard core control so I generally only need to counter one spell to protect my combo. I'll definitely put it in the maybeboard and try to acquire one via trade some day. Overmaster is cute, but I don't have room for it. On the plus side, I run Banefire in this deck for the explicit reason that the damage can't be prevented and the spell can't be countered.

Wow... That's quite a deck...
Would you mind taking a look at my Mizzix of the Card-Draw deck, and suggesting things to improve? I'm trying to break it as much as possible to see what can be done with it.

I actually ended up building a very similar build to this. Some of my variation is no flashback cards. I also have an additional creature, Dualcaster Mage. In place of the flashback cards, I have a Wild Ricochet, a Scroll Rack, and a Crystal Ball.

Not sure how you'd feel about Inexorable Tide. It pretty much removes the restiction to gaining experience counters from Mizzix by giving you another experience counter every time you cast a spell no matter what.

I run it, I just didn't see that he didn't have it... Well spotted... :)

Fireball can wipe out multiple opponents the same as Comet Storm for instead of (cept it's sorcery).
If you had Fireball plus Pyretic Ritual (or Desperate Ritual, either will add to your mana pool for ) then Firemind's Foresight could pull out both of those plus Reiterate. If you had 3 tokens before playing Firemind's Foresight then you nuke the table.
Also, Mystic Speculation with 2 tokens = scry three for every turn.
amazing deck btw.

Looks like I can't edit my previous comment... I made a mistake, Firemind's Foresight can't pull out Fireball coz it only targets instants. but it can still pull out Reiterate + Pyretic Ritual + Mystical Tutor, then use tutor to get Comet Storm.

@Zerienga and EDHNUT: Inexorable Tide is a win more card IMO. Five counters is really all I need for this deck to perform really well. Another problem is that the tide doesn't have an immediate impact on the game that I'd like to see in a card that costs 5 mana. Also, EDHNUT..I hardly have time for my own projects. :P Ask me again around Christmas time.
@Ultiwhop: That's a way to win consistently. I don't want Firemind's Foresight to be an instant win card. The deck would be boring to play.

Fair call, But i messed up again anyway... you can just grab Reiterate, Comet Storm, Mystical Tutor... Your deck is an absolute horror.

Thanks! I didn't realize how competitive this deck was until I played it. The card advantage is insane. Couple that with having answers all the time and "going off" with a comet storm for x>=40 out of nowhere, and you got a deck.
December 2, 2015 2:25 p.m.
YESSSS! I just play tested the deck for the first time, and turn five I had Mizzix with boots and I was able to storm through my whole deck and cast comet storm for like 80. Storm in EDH! So happy. :)
But yeah, super sweet deck, mate! I think in mine I am going to put in Laboratory Maniac or something of that manner to combo with the Enter the Infinite.

That's a great goldfish, 52piggy. I think turn five is the fastest I've goldfished as well. Lab Man would be good. Also, if you want to speed it up, you can substitute the Fire Diamond or Sky Diamond with Mox Diamond. I'm trying to build this deck on a budget, but I imagine with another $200 in the deck that it would be downright awful to play against.

Necrotize perfectly describes why I don't run Inexorable Tide.
"Just from play tests I've done with similar decks, I can suggest that Inexorable Tide be replaced with something else. Yes you do cast a lot of spells, but due to the nature of Mizzix, the far more likely event is that you'll run out of spells to cast. It is a rather high CMC card that unlike Sphinx Bone Wand, doesn't actually win games for you, just kinda pushes you along a little faster if you're already ahead. Assuming you play it the turn after your commander, that's a whole turn where you could've been building up counters wasted. Doubling spells and maintaining tempo is usually more effective than proliferating."

Since "instant and sorcery spells you cast cost 1 less to cast for each experience counter you have," does that make it difficult to use a card like Spell Burst since the value of X is partially determined by your experience counters?
December 5, 2015 2:32 a.m.
If you have an aim for a number UNDER the number of EXP counters you have, then it's a problem...

@theindigoeffect You select the value of X when you cast the spell, then cost modifiers are applied. So you can select an X value that is below the number of experience counters you have, and then Mizzix's reducing effect would reduce the colorless mana you need to pay to . It works nicely that way.

At the risk of sounding stupid, was there a reason you chose Desperate Ritual over Pyretic Ritual?
Also, I know you're not a fan of the storm mechanic, since you're trying to keep the game fun for a casual setting, but I was wondering: do you have a certain combo in mind that would flow with Temporal Fissure using the existing cards in this decklist?
The reason I ask is because I occasionally play with a friend of mine who has a soul-crushing land destruction deck, and I don't mind playing a card like that specifically against him.
Anyhow, great job with decklist: I had mixed feelings about putting Clone Legion in there, so I'm relieved to see that you had taken it out.

Hey man I made my own Mizzix deck, would appreciate if you took a look: X Gon' Give It to Ya!. It doesn't run any infinite combos, but it does win in spectacular fashion, usually by a crazy big storm spell. The other thing is that I don't really run any counterspells, the reason being I want as much value from cards like Epic Experiment and Mizzix's Mastery as possible. Here's some of the stuff I've learned so far:
Lightning Greaves, while good at protecting Mizzix from targeted removal, doesn't help with all the Earthquake effects that we tend to throw around. I switched it to a Darksteel Plate.
Everflowing Chalice plays really nicely with proliferate.
Eye of the Storm + Mind's Desire is the best/stupidest thing ever. Also, Epic Experiment is, well, Epic. Both of which are nuts with Sphinx-Bone Wand. Even something like a Mizzix's Mastery is basically gg if you have 20+ spells in the yard with a Wand in play. Guttersnipe is the more fragile, but faster Sphinx-Bone Wand.
Fanning the Flames is a reliable chunk of damage and a way to keep those counters flowing.
Not sure if I like it yet, but I'm also running an Anger as a way of giving all the creatures I copy/steal haste so I can swing with them right away if needed.
But yeah, take a look if you can and let me know what you think!
EDIT: I see that you aren't interested in storm, but my other suggestions still hold merit I think
