Mizzix's Laws of Incineration

Commander / EDH Aikido Burn UR (Izzet)

AslanCross

First Law of Incineration

"The magnitude of the pyrokinetic discharge is directly proportional to the mortality of the subject."This deck's primary win condition is the complete incineration of your enemies. Everyone says burn is an ineffective strategy in EDH, but this deck is intended to prove them wrong. - Banefire- Comet Storm- Bonfire of the Damned- Urza's Rage- Sudden Impact- Ravaging Blaze

First Law Corollary: The Law of Mana"The input of mana is directly proportional to the output of the pyrokinetic discharge."For obvious reasons, mana is an important component in this deck, especially in the color that is needs it to go into turbo. - Mana Flare- Doubling Cube- Caged Sun- Mana Geyser- Gilded Lotus- Darksteel Ingot- Sky Diamond- Fire Diamond- Sol Ring- Urza Lands- Temple of the False God- Cloud Key- Seal of the GuildpactI am not entirely sold on adding the smaller mana rituals (Pyretic Ritual, Desperate Ritual, and Seething Song), but I might experiment on them later on.Phyrexian Metamorph and Clever Impersonator can also be used to copy Gilded Lotus. You might also notice that despite this, the land count is low---this is because even if the land count were high, the deck has no green elements to exploit topdecking a land. In this deck, you don't want to topdeck a land. This is my philosophy for non-green decks. It has worked, mostly.

First Law Corollary B: The Law of Experience"The amount of research invested into the Izmagnus is directly proportional to the reduction coefficient." The deck needs to give Mizzix experience as quickly as possible. As such, there are some low-cost spells that can be cast very early on. There are also a couple of proliferate effects that can be used to increase experience counters even if their costs are too low to do so.

Second Law of Incineration

"The reiteration of the pyrokinetic discharge exponentially increases the subject's mortality."Copy spells are extremely useful in this deck, especially since Mizzix's cost reduction effect can free up mana.- Reiterate- Fork- Increasing Vengeance- Chandra, the Firebrand- Melek, Izzet Paragon- Mizzix's Mastery

Third Law of Incineration

"The probability of the subject's incineration is geometrically proportional to the rate of spell research."Card advantage wins games. - Brainstorm- Fact or Fiction- Recurring Insight- Steady Progress- Tezzeret's Gambit- Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind- Azami, Lady of Scrolls- Whispers of the Muse
