[MODERN] Death and Taxes

Modern*

ybestone

Sideboard

So I was recently thinking about starting playing Modern and was looking through a few of the possible decks I could be building. I settled on Death and Taxes because I like to play decks that interact with my opponent and I especially like it when my opponent's deck doesn't work. The idea of this deck is to deny my opponent mana and library search with cards like Leonin Arbiter and Aven Mindcensor. With them in play, cards like Path to Exile and [Ghost Quarter] suddenly become Swords to Plowshares and Strip Mine. Otherwise, the other creatures are there to protect me and possibly beat down until I can set up the soft lock of Hokori, Dust Drinker and a Sword of Feast and Famine or Aether Vial. Then I kill my opponent with one of this deck's beaters possibly attached to a Sword.

About the sideboard, Jotun Grunt is there for the UWR matchup because of Snapcaster Mage, and any deck that play's Tarmogoyf. Same with Rest in Peace for any graveyard-based strategies, and even vs Melira Pod. Ethersworn Canonist is good vs UWR, or Storm and eggs if those become a thing again. Phyrexian Revoker and Kataki, War's Wage work wonders vs Affinity, and Revoker also get's sided in vs Splinter Twin. Day of Judgment is also great vs any decks that play a large amount of creatures and vs hexproof decks in some cases (depends on if they've attached any Umbras yet). In addition, Knight of the Holy Nimbus survives it. Finally, Crucible of Worlds is tech vs. Tron and Scapeshift in order to keep on Recycling Ghost Quarter to keep them off the full tron or 7 lands for Scapeshift.

I still need to get a lot of testing done with this deck and I hope that I can get as much feedback, good or bad, as I can.
