A flexible form of control mill I've been working on with the help of some friends. There are enough aggro mill cards in the deck to do some serious damage, with enough control to hopefully prevent any threat doing a significant amount of damage. It has been doing well at my local card shop, but could always use improvement.
MILL:
Glimpse the Unthinkable, Mind Funeral, and Mind Grind are your hard mill spells. Only one Mind Grind has been included in the main since you want to keep mana open for your control spells. However, one copy is in the sideboard for matchups where you find yourself with empty mana to dump for an aggro win.
Sphinx's Tutelage
+
Visions of Beyond
is a great synergy. Keep your hand full and your opponent's library empty.
Codex Shredder provides stable protection against Scry, and open mana can be dumped into returning hard mill back to your hand to finish off your opponent.
CONTROL:
Mana Leak and Psychic Strike are your main counterspells.
Dismember and Murderous Cut can get rid of the big threats that manage to get through.
Cyclonic Rift is good for the creatures that can't be removed by other means so they can be countered later. The overload board wipe is great for aggro matchups, and can be crucial when victory is only a mill trigger away(which has happened multiple times before).
CREATURES:
Hedron Crab a beautiful card in this format, and a hidden powerhouse. Its Landfall trigger, combined with its ability to chump block if necessary can win games, especially with Polluted Delta.
One Consuming Aberration can be a big threat. Best part? It mills.
LANDS:
Nephalia Drownyard
has won me games with its mana dump mill.
Halimar Depths may enter tapped, but lets you plan your next 3 turns. What's not to love?
Dimir Aqueduct bounces lands back for your Scry and Landfall triggers, AND it gives you 2 mana per tap.
Polluted Delta
+
Watery Grave
OR Polluted Delta + Swamp/Island. Landfall triggers everywhere.
Temple of Deceit
General Scry.
SIDEBOARD:
Lots of counter and removal can be moved in where it's necessary.
Bojuka Bog and Ravenous Trap wonderful cards against Dredge or other decks that utilize the graveyard.
