Maybe a tad bit expensive mana wise, but Door of Destinies would rock in this deck. Also maybe Nissa's Chosen . Either way, well built deck.

Still, 3 mana to draw 3-5 more creatures is pretty useful when you've emptied your creatures onto the field.

It isn't bad, but it still just leaves you top decking, which is what you want to avoid. You want options in your hand. When you run out all the cards in your hand, and your opponent kills them all with Anger of the Gods or Supreme Verdict , you'd much rather play Lead the Stampede and get 3-5 creatures put into your hand, than to have Descendants' Path just possibly putting one elf out a turn tops, when you might not even want to cast them right away. I feel Descendants' Path is only better in long drawn out games, or when used to cheat out large creatures, neither of which I feel is the goal of this deck.

Jaeyx I like the case you made for Lead the Stampede I went ahead and added 2 main, and 2 in the side.

I strongly suggest Beck / Call to accelerate your drawing power and cast out more elves. +1 from me! I think elf decks are amazing fun, mono green elfs, G/B elfs, simic elfs are all fun.

You're producing some nice mana and decent elf tokens. However, the tokens are left as pingers and chump blockers. With your mana production and Immaculate Magistrate , Joraga Warcaller can make all elves and elf tokens huge fast. I love Genesis Wave and Coat of Arms in this deck!

My elf deck looked very similar when I first built it but has evolved since later being inspired. For starters, Umbral Mantle is a great one to have, why you ask?
1st turn: Llanowar Elves 2nd turn:Elvish Archdruid 3rd turn: Elvish Visionary , Elvish Mystic , and Umbral Mantle . 4th turn: Equip Elvish Archdruid with Umbral Mantle . Tap Elvish Archdruid for 4 mana. Use 3 of it to untap him with Umbral Mantle . Infinite mana, you get the gist. Now, this also makes your Elvish Archdruid infinitely huge. In addition, all of your mana dorks can be pumped up by putting a bunch of mana in your mana pool and moving Umbral Mantle to each of those creatures and untapping as many times as necessary. The best part is Genesis Wave . XD
Regardless of how it play tested, or how many mana dorks you have, or advice you may have received you will need at least 20 lands for this deck to function consistently. After playing with elves as long as I have, that's just a truth I have come to accept.
Another card I'm going to recommend for you is Lightning Greaves . Casting it on the second turn will assure your staples stay out in play long enough to get use out of them and it will increase your speed. I have attacked and killed my opponent with 4 1,000,000,000/1,000,000,000 on the 3rd turn. Tee hee.
Joraga Treespeaker , Fauna Shaman and Elvish Piper also work nice for getting your desired cards out in a timely matter.
All and all, you are off to a really good start. I play tested it several times, +1 for sure. Check out mine and play test it a few times. I Present to you the Jazzy Fat Nasties

Thanks lordofmishap1982! I will look pick some of those cards up and add them. I really like that Umbral Mantle not sure how I never knew of it.

The Umbral Mantle combo is fun, I've used it in an online deck a few times. Combine that with Joraga Warcaller as well for a bunch of giant elves. And with Ezuri, Renegade Leader for infinite pumps as well.

Immaculate Magistrate also works really well with Joraga Warcaller , if you do go that route.

Soul of the Harvest is always an.... "interesting" card to run with elves as well. I don't know that I'd highly recommend it, but it's worth mentioning. If you get infinite mana, have him out, and can just continuously play dudes and draw more dudes and play more dudes and draw more dudes, then it gets really good. Especially if you drop Craterhoof Behemoth afterwards. Generally called an "elfball combo" I think. Again, these are sorta different directions the deck can go. It probably can't run ALL of these ideas as well as focusing on one.

Heritage Druid is a beast in these kind of decks because it adds an extra fast mana dude
March 7, 2014 5:46 p.m.
man, if you put together the infinite mana combo (3 elves + Elvish Archdruid + Umbral Mantle ) you need to add Joraga Warcaller

Personally, I would reccomend Elixir of Immortality So you can get some quick lifegain and, if any of your elves were sent to the graveyard, they can be brought back.+1 from me.

The biggest problem I see is the lack of any interaction. You're slower than the combo decks in the format and have 0 ways to interact with, for example, twin. I'm not sure how you came up with your sideboard, but I would suggest at least adding some amounts of Torpor Orb
and Spellskite
, maybe even Thorn of Amethyst
for storm. Nature's Claim
is a fantastic sideboard card, too.
To reiterate, I think your current 75's biggest problems are
1) Too slow, and
2) No interaction at all.

Great Deck! I love elf decks, and made one of my own not too long ago. Given my experience with elf decks, I would suggest the following:
I'd replace the Emrakul, the Aeons Torn with Craterhoof Behemoth . Craterhoof Behemoth just steals games :)
I'm not a huge fan of Immaculate Magistrate in the current meta for one simple reason...Spellskite . Everyone is running them because there are a million Twin decks running around (and because it's just an amazing card!). Card draw is crazy important in a deck like this; and you may be able to get away with simply running another two Lead the Stampede and/or Harmonize (so you can draw into a Genesis Wave ). There will be a lot of games where you will be able to complete the Elvish Archdruid + Umbral Mantle combo; and you will want to have card draw (seeing as how you can play out your entire hand and/or your entire deck if you hit a Genesis Wave .) Seeing as how it is a 2-of; however, you may have more games where the Joraga Warcaller combo is worth having a few in the deck...just a suggestion.
I'd probably only run three Ezuri, Renegade Leader . He's legendary; and he is more of a "win-con" than part of the "engine" of the deck (this is kinda how I break down elf decks....a large portion are the "engine" to ramp you to your win while the rest are the "win-con" finishers). You have plenty of win-cons (between Coat of Arms , Ezuri, Renegade Leader , Drove of Elves , etc.
I may run one or two Nylea, God of the Hunt ....I know this sounds crazy...but it is a GREAT way to give your Drove of Elves and Jagged-Scar Archers trample. Also, with a Coat of Arms out there, it is awesome for all of your big elves to also have trample even if Ezuri isn't out there:) That, and Nylea works as a great mana-sink when you have extra mana with nothing to do. On top of all of this, in most games she will be a 6/6 indestructible creature too! Even with just one (to hit off of a Genesis Wave I think she will be helpful in more games than she isn't.
Run a few Horizon Canopy . These are just a great way to "steal"a game you may not have otherwise won. You will get to a point where mana is not an issue but you wish you had another card or two...this is a great way to do that! They are a little expensive though...so it makes sense not to have these if you are just getting into Modern and have to buy all the cards.
Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx . Again, these are somewhat expensive; so it may not be feasible. These just help make your Genesis Wave s that much bigger and help pump with Ezuri, Renegade Leader a few extra times.
These are literally all just suggestions. They are just interactions I've found worked well in my elf deck. The deck is GREAT as it currently is (and I could be wrong given the fact that you know how the deck plays out far better than I do).
Of course, +1!!!! I love seeing a great elf deck!

I personally would probably just take out the Drove of Elves and Jagged-Scar Archers . The second of which I might side board. But I just feel they are underwhelming. I'd rather run full sets of Juroga, maybe another Lead the Stampede, and Nylea sounds like a decent suggestion as well. When the Archdruid/Umbra mantle combo alone makes Archdruid as big as you want, trample could make him win without even needing Ezuri or Craterhoof. I might also add another Magistrate with the freed spots, but the previous comment argues a solid reason against it. Depends on whether or not you're worried about Spellskite. Elvish Promenade is another potential for those slots. Help the Druid make lots of mana for a genesis wave or craterhoof even if you don't have the umbra mantle, which would win you the game with the tokens.
All just hypothetical thoughts for what I'd try to do instead with those 8 slots. Definitely looking like its improved overall though. I like it.

Slate of Ancestry is great to refill your hand, it works much better than Lead the Stampede ..and, you might not even get to use Immaculate Magistrate (enters late, becomes a primary target for removal and having a 20/20 elf or a 35/35 does not make much difference if it has no trample and no protection), i think an Asceticism would be a better maindeck card.. then you could use Ezuri, Renegade Leader (still alive thanks to the Asceticism ) or a surprising Joraga Warcaller or Craterhoof Behemoth to kick butts...

I suggest Beast Within to deal with problem permanents. Also maybe 1 or 2 Nissa's Chosen since you can tutor with nissa for it, it's a nice follow-up to a boardwipe.
