This is my first Modern Deck build and its main focus is to gain life and +1/+1 counters throughout the game to avoid loss by damage and build up power for powerful attacks. Some key cards in this strategy are: Sunbond, Archangel of Thune, Primodial Hydra, and Unflinching Courage. Strength and Lifelink go great with Sunbond to double counters. Some supporting cards are Heroes' Reunion, Dawnglow Infusion, and Wall of Essence (all three for some quick lifegain that can possibly trigger effects depending on what the user controls on the battlefield), as well as Congregation at Dawn to ensure you have creatures to work with. Ajani Goldmane synergizes amazingly here because of his +1 and -2, and with a deck like this you can't go wrong with using his ultimate just for lol's! Another great card here is Wheel of Sun and Moon just to make sure your library never drops too much and to make use of whatever cards where to be destroyed/countered/discarded/or any card sent to grave in anyways in another chance late game. Ajani's Pridemate fits in snug with the lifegain and makes good aggro as a 2 for 2/2. Mystics are a no brainer to assist with getting Thune out and have more to do with your cards (Sunbond's mana cost can sometimes be a bit expensive too), and dual lands to ensure you never get mana screwed to just one color (duh!) lol.
