This is an idea I had hanging out in my bedroom. I wondered how viable mardu burn would be seeing as how Alms of the Vein and Fiery Temper exist now.

Alms of the Vein is basically a 5-8th Lightning Helix for cheaper, and it causes life loss, which can't be prevented.

Fiery Temper was legal in modern before, but it never really had a home in the normal burn decks. With Shadows over Innistrad out, we have all new discard outlets in the form of Nahiri, the Harbinger and Olivia, Mobilized for War.

Going black gives us access to Alms of the Vein, Bump in the Night, and Olivia, Mobilized for War. It also gives us access to sideboard tech like Thoughtseize and Dismember.
