Modern Multi-Player Devoid/Lifepain

Modern* Deathtouch Devoid Lifelink RBW (Mardu)

Schmd

Maybeboard

Kitchen table multi-player with a mixture of modern legal*/commander decks with each player starting at 30 life points. Usually 4 players per table.

Based on a loose application of the work done by MTG Data Science and their Vanilla Creature Calculator @ https://mtgds.shinyapps.io/Empirical_Vanilla_Test/.

Research into mana costs for life gain on attacks versus the expected mana costs for lifelink showed that lifelink and powers >= 3 might be a mana efficiency edge.

High table usage of cheating out Emrakul, the Aeons Torn early (circa turn 4) and New-dith Judith, Carnage Connoisseur lead me to want a Colorless/Devoid damage based removal package.

Exemplar of Light can draw multiple cards per turn cycle with Sunscorch Regent triggers.

Ajani's Pridemate can add multiple +1/+1 counters per turn cycle with Sunscorch Regent triggers.

Eternal Thirst Gives non-lifelinker creatures a chance to grow as the game progresses, or add lifelink to the growing threats Ajani's Pridemate/Exemplar of Light/Sunscorch Regent.

Lifegain can turn into chip damage with Sanguine Bond.

##################Version 2

Found myself wanting to Heart Of The Cards (HOTC) more Generous Gift, Judith, Carnage Connoisseur, and Kozilek's Return on initial game night. Also felt the deck had more lifegain payoffs than enablers.

-In- 1x Generous Gift, 1x Judith, Carnage Connoisseur, 1x Kozilek's Return

-Out- 1x Adult Gold Dragon, 1x Ghostfire Slice, 1x Sanguine Bond

##################Version 3

Had a friend point out the existence of Necromentia/Lost Legacy/Infinite Obliteration which races the turn 4 Emrakul, the Aeons Torn faster than the Pestilent Spirit + Ghostfire Slice/Reality Hemorrhage. Still like the burn spot removal, but will likely be devesting from it over time as gameplay dictates. Replacing Eternal Thirst with Rune of Sustenance valuing the added card draw over the incremental threat of +1/+1 counters. Additional Turn 3 answers to every Emrakul, the Aeons Torn might lead to reducing number of Vampire Nighthawk in exchange for more creatures over the 3 power lifelink threshold discussed under the Concept tab.

-In- 3x Rune of Sustenance, 3x Necromentia,

-Out- 2x Pestilent Spirit, 2x Eternal Thirst, 1x Exemplar of Light, 1x Ghostfire Slice
