Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, Garruk Wildspeaker and Vorapede are great budget options. Especially Vorapede since it works great with Experiment One and Avatar of the Resolute

How has running both Collected Company and Surrak, the Hunt Caller been for you? I used to run Surrak, but took everything with CMC > 3 out when I brought in CoCo. My list is here: STOMP! if you want to share notes.

i,too, dropped all creatures that couldn't be hit by collected company. there is nothing worse than spending all your mana on a whiffed collected company

I haven't really run into any problems with surrack, there's only 2 copies of him so finding him with CoCo doesn't happen often. Also he tends to be a card I sideboard out if I need to sideboard. If I did take him out though I would probably put in Dungrove Elder for stickiness or Groundbreaker for the haste replacement

Good to know. If I ever go down to 3 copies of CoCo, I'm putting Surrak back in as a 1-of. He's great for closing out games. I don't know if you've tired Groundbreaker yet, but I've found it to be pretty underwhelming which sucks because I really wanted to like it. I think that people do run it with Boggart Ram-Gang and cast CoCo main-phase, but that seems pretty hit-or-miss.

i use groundbreaker in my stompy deck, and it's an allstar. but i built my deck to want to cast coco main phase because it doesn't care if the creatures die

demonicgrizzly I just learned that a Groundbreaker entering the battlefield during your opponent's end step doesn't get sacrificed until the beginning of the end step on your next turn. I take back anything bad I've ever said about Groundbreaker. =)

Play tested this deck just now against my Minty Green. Your deck is not only affordable but effective, Zargast. I only ran into one problem. Dryad Militant didn't work well with Scavenging Ooze.

What do you think about Dismember in the main or side for some removal and/or Lead the Stampede for cheap card advantage, maybe as a budget CoCo alternative?

I do like Lead the Stampede, and I used to have Dismember in the sideboard but it rarely proved useful in the places I usually play, so I put in Feed the Clan, it's simply personal experience but dismember is a great card

My sideboard is as follows for my stompy deck

2x Tormod's Crypt to try and hose gave yard decks, anything that runs Snapcaster Mage, some combo decks

2x Beast Within to deal with Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker combo, troublesome plainswalkers, etc

3x Feed the Clan for aggro and burn life gain (nothing like gaining 10 life against a burn deck)

2x Choke against Merfolk, grixis, anything that relies on blue

2x Guttural Response for blue control decks

2x Surgical Extraction against certain combo decks and snapcaster Mage

Dismember is also a great choice, I just do not have it
