Nice to see some one trying to bring back the foundry.

I'd considered Necro, but it didn't seem to generate enough value to be good. Lightning Coils is a very invested strategy. If it was CMC 4, I'd be happy to play it as it wouldn't die to Abrupt Decay, which is something that can't be faded. I like that the tokens have haste though, since it avoids Anger and Pyroclasm as sorceries. I'll keep it in mind when I try to make the deck better since I'm saccing a lot of real creatures. Thanks for the input though. I appreciate it :D
It's a pet card of mine. In my pet shard of Esper. Of course I'd love to try to make it playable again. I just hope this is a solid enough build to be competitive. Thopter Foundry, in the right deck, feels like a better Lingering Souls that's more recursive.

Id love to see it make a competitive comeback, Im not sure if a 4 card combo will do it though :S

Well, the combo is just there to generate more of an aerial threat. I can still punch people with Celestial Colonnade and suited up Myr Retrievers/Cathodions (which would be an epic win onscreen a Modern PTQ by the way :3). Since I'd be trying to avoid stuff that mass kills Tokens, I could always have a transformative sideboard to become a pure control or even Artifact centric value deck.

I could. But the problem is, I don't have a computer or reliable internet. The best I can hope for is to have that soon, buy this IRL, or see if someone else will test it and give me some results to know what I'm dealing with. BELIEVE ME, I'd love to test this myself. But, it's just not possible right now.

b287213 ~ as a lover of all things fringe I would love to sleeve this up and play it for you for feedback purposes but as I am short a couple cards at the moment I can link it up and run some tests on untap.in for you. I will have to run several to get a feel for the deck before I give serious feedback so it may take a couple days before you hear back from me. Deck looks fun. Can't wait to give it a go.

With 17 artifacts in the deck, maybe Thoughtcast might provide some good card advantage.

Would it be wise to run 4 Thoughtcast in place of Visions?
Thanks! :D Take as long as you'd like on the feedback, I'm in no rush as this deck is waaaayy out of budget right now. I really want to play this deck though, and any and all feedback to make it smoother and better would be amazing.

I wouldn't cut Serum Visions, that card is a powerhouse. If you can never activate Thassa, you might consider cutting her as well as moving one Supreme Verdict onto the sideboard to make room for 2 Thoughtcasts in addition to your Serum Visions.
You could also consider splashing for a Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas. He provides good artifact tutoring as well as a backup win condition. It also opens up cards like Thoughtseize and Murderous Cut.

I don't want to go into Esper to keep my mana as painless as possible. It really screws you against aggro decks.

True, however 2 Swamps and 3 Polluted Deltas would hardly take a toll on your life total. Not to mention it provides more deck thinning. Just a thought though.

I'll keep Esper in mind, thanks :D . It really draws me with it's ability to see an opponent's hand and take stuff. But, I really don't know how it would play at that point. Testing would be sorely needed. Also, isn't Tidehollow Sculler an artifact? That could be interesting to use. But, as I said. Further testing is definitely required for Esper.

Could be interesting. The cool thing about Tidehollow Sculler is that you can stack the abilities in such a way (if you need to) to make something go away permanently. Play him and in response to his ability on the stack sac him to Thopter Foundry. Permanently Exiles a card.
Not to mention he comes as a promo which looks pretty awesome:

enpc get me an Esper package to put in the maybeboard along with the cuts that would make it playable. It might be fun to test around with that. But, first the Azorious one. I only have one generous tester at this point due to my lack of ability haha. But thanks for the input, I really like hearing about stuff like this. Thanks :D

I would recommend putting together a second decklist for the esper version. Then You can tweak it seperate to this one.

That's a great idea. Thanks for all the help. I posted the deck here (Modern Thopter Foundry Primer (Esper)), but for right now, it's a clean slate.

I'd drop the Mana Leak to run the full 4x Remand. Tempo is going to be necessary if you want this to succeed and there is basically no card in Modern better at building tempo than Remand. Spell Pierce might be more effective in the main board than Spell Snare. Spell Snare is better once you've had a look at your opponents deck and determined that it can be effective, so it fits better in the sideboard where as Spell Pierce is very universal.

Thanks! Plus, consistency seems to be an issue here as well with all of the two of counters.

I use a Grand Architect for Infinite mana to spawn Infinite Thopters. You still need 2x Myr Retriever for the Infinite sac

I think Supreme Verdict is better than Wrath of God
