I'm no expert at anything, but I'm pretty good at landbases and other general stuff, like saying why cards are better than other ones in certain decks, like saying why Murderous Cut might be better than another general removal spell in a gy heavy deck.

I dunno, I guess I'm pretty good at Skred. And maybe Zoo, but idk about that one.

Magicrafter I concur. That's kinda why we're all on this site.

Also, I wouldn't run Delve cards in a gy heavy deck, but I won't start this here.

Sort of like all of us, I suppose XD Which goes back to Barry's point.

June 14, 2015 8:23 p.m.

Also, tennis, for skred you say?

Yes. I've done it a few times with much success (mostly online). Give me a Skred deck and I can make suggestions on it. And yes, Skred is a defined archetype according to MtGTop8.com's current Modern meta.

Oh I wasn't doubting that it's an established archetype, I just had no idea that you played it XD

Do we have a dredgeman? I know it's lost a bit of favour in recent times but I still feel it's a big enough archetype that there must be SOMEONE out there who knows their stuff ...

No, seriously, put up a category on there that just says "Anything Fringe", and put me under it. XD

At the moment, I'm about as close as we have to a dredge person. I don't play with Trolls, but I do chill in the loam quite a bit.

June 15, 2015 1:09 a.m.

Yes, we don't currently have someone for dredge XD Hey, one more on that list.

First off, I love the list! Love it as an extension of all the modern support ChiefBell and the rest of the top community dogs are giving.

But WOW. How do we not have someone for Zoo. I've been all over the internet trying to pick up knowledge as I've learned to play Zoo, but Y'all's Modern Deck Breakdown is one of the resources I used as I developed my own strategies. Do we really have no one who specializes in that field? It seems like such a long standing staple of the format.

June 15, 2015 11:08 a.m. Edited.

JRaynor Hahahaha thanks :)

We're actually missing quite a bunch XD Zoo, GR Tron, Living End, Boggles, Fae, just to name some off the top of my head.

NOooahhhhh.wait... I mean NAOOOOHHHHH. Didn't mean to yell Noah.

Well, all the same it's an impressive list. REALLY shocked we don't have a GR Tron. I see that one online ALL the freaking time. Great that we have so many good residential experts willing to help on the decks listed though! Thanks!

If you list stuff as fringe as Vampires, UBx Tezzeret is a specialty of mine.

I think I am the only user on T/O with a popular UB Tezzeret Deck. Just an Idea.

Considering writing a primer for it, I already know there is one on MTGS, but maybe T/O could have one, holidays are coming up, so I'll have some time off to write one.

I don't know if I qualify but I fancy myself knowing a good amount about Control. Also, is there anyone with good knowledge of CoCo elves in modern? That deck should feature here.

June 20, 2015 11:51 a.m.

GAH SO MANY NOTIFICATIONS XD

jackanukealty I'm not entirely sure if that's necessary? The fact that your list is the only one would point to the fact that it's not very known. But I really don't know. We haven't come up with requirements or whatever to make the list yet is all.

I know it tends to be more of an EDH archetype, but I've been floating around learning the ins and outs of Voltron lately. So if you would consider that a feasible modern format, then I could be listed for it. I know I'm not the best at it, but there isn't anyone else listed for it at the moment.

Again, this is only if you think it is a feasible archetype in modern.

EDIT- Oh, and happy 4th of July. :)

Looks like you can add a Death and Taxes section! I've worked one full month only on it, and I'll be playing this archetype at a nice european event :D

July 6, 2015 6:17 p.m.

elpokitolama D and T in Modern? Would that be close enough to hatebears, or a different category?

NoviceMagician Could you give me an example of a list? I'm interested, because I know basically balls about Voltron XD

elpokitolama says... #22

You're somehow right, since that's pretty close to HB (the only differences are that it's monocolored HB and that it uses (and abuses) etb effects). :>

July 6, 2015 6:28 p.m.

Like I said, I'm definitely not the best on it, but I am knowledgeable on it enough to provide full synopsizes on Voltron decks, which could probably be considered above average suggestions for its archetype. I actually made a new one the other day, but it is budget so it isn't the best, and I'll send you the link over chat.

The only modern viable voltron game in modern is a Bogles deck, which can come in 3 different flavors. There is no one on Bogles at the moment, so if you want to learn up on that already established archetype NoviceMagician, that'd probably be your best bet. Any other non-bogles strategy (like heroic) is basically turned off by the sheer amount of removal in the format.

July 6, 2015 7:41 p.m.

I know Bogles as well, it is Voltron afterall. And at the same time, I think being listed for Voltron pretty much covers all the forms of Voltron, including Bogles. I could be listed for both or one or the other, whatever makes more sense to Famy.

Also, I believe it has yet to be established whether these are just simple modern specialties, or competitive specialties. So even if Bogles was out of the picture, Voltron is still a viable archetype no matter how much it is, or how much it isn't, competitve.

It is up to Famy, and thank you for the advice ThatJunkMage. :)
