I think you have too many lands in this deck. You should probably bring it down to 24 to free up a little more space for spells. I would add in Mystic Monastery and take out lands like Ghost Quarter and Celestial Colonnade. If you're concerned about creatures, using land to block will just eat up mana and make you fall behind your opponent. You should put in more creatures to handle that problem. I would also try to run more play sets so that you have a better chance of drawing what's important, and you won't get anything you don't need.

I like the suggestion of fewer lands, and I'm trying that with more card draw, because we REALLY want to get to 4 mana. 24 might be the right number, but I see some similar decks playing 23 with plenty of draw, so I'll try the same.

Mystic Monastery is way too slow for modern. The manabase itself is quite stable. Celestial Colonnade is a win condition in case we play a long control game, and Ghost Quarter gives me game against Tron, manlands, and Gavony Township. Because this is a control deck, we don't want much in the way of creatures. We have plenty of removal to handle opposing creatures. You'll also notice, we have 3-4 copies of the important stuff (mainly cheap removal, Cryptic Command, and Nahiri, the Harbinger). The idea is, we play a long game, staying alive, and we eventually find what we're looking for anyway.
