Looks good! However, Guttersnipe isn't really a control card. How about Young Pyromancer instead since you seem to run a lot of instants and sorceries? Pyromancer's tokens can protect you better.

Agreed with Larty. You could also sac the Young Pyromancer tokens to Mogis.

i think i'd rather potentially burn them with Guttersnipe but i'll test out Young Pyromancer

@crisrael what do you mean sac the tokens to mogis?

When you cast an instant/sorcery, then Young Pyromancer produces a 1/1 Elemental Token. You can use those tokens to sac to Mogis, that way you don't take 2 damage every turn

You still read the card wrong. Mogis is twice as good as you think.

I do not feel that the Whip of Erebos is right for this deck, as you have a very low creature count.

I would also remove Guttersnipe and instead run some win conditions of Haunted Plate Mail Mutavault Master of Cruelties

If you are putting Born of the Gods cards in straight up, then i would not discount Searing Blood at least as a sideboard card, as it is damage to the face as well as a creature removed.

I think this deck needs a bit more card draw, which you can achieve with either Underworld Connections or Erebos, God of the Dead

In fitting with the control elements, i suggest a combination of:

Pithing Needle (great for Aetherling, planeswalkers, or any other activate to win type cards)

Thoughtseize - This early gives you a great idea of what to target with your Slaughter Games

Duress - as above. not necessary against aggro decks, but this and Thoughtseize together against control decks means you have a lot of opportunities to raid their hand and slow their build.

As a point of difference, i also like Wild Ricochet i know it is costly, but it can have some awesome clutch moments.

Check out my build Rak your brain. and see what you think

Whip of Erebos is it to help stabilize by gaining life back after Desecration Demon is out, since against aggro deck and other fast decks i'll potentially be extremely low on life(where they could just burn me)

Mutavault and Thoughtseize are out of my price range

i'll give Searing Blood some testing

i'll consider Underworld Connections but i dont think it'll work good in this deck though

Pithing Needle is in the side already and Duress is in the main

Honestly i feel the amount of times that you are going to have both the Whip of Erebos and Desecration Demon early enough to be able to stabilise against aggro decks are so negligible that you might not even bother. Since you are talking about getting one of two cards, in a sixty card deck, compounded with the odds of having one of four cards out of the sixty card deck - The odds are not in your favour on that one.

I decided not to run with the Demon because he didn't really fit the controlling theme that i was going for, and to be honest, with the amount of mass removal and removal that you have access to in Red/Black you really shouldn't need the Demon to be able to keep yourself in a good position. Certainly willing to let him slide as a win condition though since he is just that good as a card.

Ultimately though, I do not think that the Whip will save you nearly enough times to make it worthwhile

Hey, just saw your comment on my Machinations of the Underworld deck. Thanks :D

Here's what I think:This deck seems like more of a Orzhov-esque half-control, not that that's bad. It's just a different play style from a full control, which tends to be almost purely non-creature except for the 1 or 2 win-cons.

Here's my suggestion: -2 Ultimate Price, +2 Doom Blade, -1 Whip, -2 Pharika's Cure, +2 Underworld Connections, +1 Devour Flesh, and replace all Duress with Thoughtseize, side in Duress against control.

Those changes I feel could be extremely helpful to the deck's consistency with removal, and maintaining hand advantage, which is even more important in Rakdos since you cannot counter spells.

I run a similar deck and find Chandra, Pyromaster invaluable for her extra draw ability. You might want to give her a shot. Also, Rakdos Keyrune is completely awesome in this kind of deck.
