I am looking to utilize all of the tools available to make Rakdos standard competitive in the current meta. I have looked at a lot of decks and sat down and done some critical thinking (not to say that I've tried every option, because there are a lot of options)

Here is what I have come up with, below are some of the cards and why I have chosen them.

Mogis, God of Slaughter - forces your opponent to choose between keeping creatures and losing life every turn, and as a plus it becomes a nasty creature if the terms are met.

Rakdos, Lord of Riots is a work horse, it does have the drawback of your opponent having to have lost life that turn.

Purphoros, God of the Forge, hits my opponent for damage often as creatures enter the field. Provides a way to cast Rakdos, Lord of Riots if the board is locked up.

Blood Scrivener , I feel that he carries his own weight, as he will do work as a 2-drop, 2 power, and provides creature entry late game for Purphoros, God of the Forge, as a Read the Bones or Underworld Connections would not, and the only requirement for the card draw is to have an empty hand, which is almost always the case after the first 3-4 turns. This would be even better when combined with Read the Bones, as it should let you draw 4 cards instead of 2.

Legion Loyalist I added over the Rakdos Cackler, as it does more work, can block early and provides good synergy with adding first strike and trample, which can be huge in this deck.

Rix Maadi Guildmage can do his work by taking that extra point of damage off of a blocker for a kill, or by adding more damage points to the board if we happen to start flooding on land

Lightning Strike, gets all the best creatures, or can deal those critical last couple points of damage. For all the ones it doesn't get, I can side in Mizzium Mortars. It also provides a way to get Rakdos, Lord of Riots on the field if the board is locked up.

Thoughtseize will come in against control decks and matchups against Boros Burn where we want to pull their best cards out of their hands.
